Yes i flew all the way to new york and had one show to see. I really wanted to see rocky cuz I love it, and because alice and lea were in it. well i only had the chance to see a weds mat, so guess what, alice and lea weren't performing that day ![]()
Never the less I had Kristen Lee Kelly (one of the ultimate understudies/swings) as Janet. She was awesome. Tom Hewitt was insanely captivating. I saw Luke Perry's first week. And I also saw ana gasteyer as columbia!
She played the electric violin, lol

QueenS...you mean the 9/23 night? Cause I did not go to the January one. My final show was Jarrod's final show.

Yes, the 9/23 night. Though I missed Jarrod's last show, I also never went back after he left.
Slightly OT, do you happen to know what Jarrod's tattoo is of? (pardon my dangling participle) We could see that there was one on his left shoulder blade, but covered with make up. (Can't really have a tattoo when they out and out mention in the script that you don't, I guess.)

Posted: 9/5/03 at 4:42pmI also saw Kristin Lee Kelly go on for Alice, and she was amazing. Tom was captivating and Jared was, as expected, adorable. The thing I liked best about the production, though, was the choreography-- lots of interesting movement that captured the spirit of the piece, perfectly balancing respect for the source material and innovation. It's a fine line to walk with such a cult classic. Kudos also to the director for keeping the pace consistent. Even when you see the movie live, you can't help but notice that there's a section in the second half that drags. I enjoyed the revival far more than I thought I would when I bought the tickets.

Posted: 9/5/03 at 4:57pmYes I do know what the tattoo is. It's a burning cross. How many times were you at the show? Cause Lord knows I was there quite often. Maybe we know each other?? You can PM me if ya like!

I have to agree that RHPS is NOT a show you want to sit down and watch in the living room. It's a group thing but I'll never forget the first time I saw it and had "Happy Birthday" sang to me because my "friends" pointed me out and yelled "Virgin!" --did they do that elsewhere, if it was your first time seeing the show/movie?
I gotta tell ya, I didn't know what to think. All those people yelling things at the screen. I kept thinking they had better sit down or their going to get tossed out of here. Little did I know....
Anyway, I always thought it was great fun and did feel somewhat sorry for the poor clean up crew!

Well, BwayTheatre11, I believe the part of your disclaimer that you wanted to start a new thread. (But I do also suspect that perhaps your nose is growing a bit.) You might be amazed at the number if sites that deal with Rocky Horror and The Picture Show.
If you truly are interested in Rocky Horror you may want to try something. I challenge you to humor me, indulge me, do me and yourself a favor. Type in www.yahoo.com. Near the center top will be an elongated rectangular box. To the left it reads "search the web". Type "Rocky Horror" in the box. Click to the right where it reads "search". Prepared to be amazed. There will literally be hundreds of fun and informative sites dealing with Rocky Horror.
Anything and everything you might want to know. All at your fingertips. Since you asked about the Picture Show, I would suggest you start off with their offical site. You can read about the interesting background section on how TRHPS's journey began and developed. A must see site for any fan of the movie. Next I would suggest going to the offical B'way revival site. Then possibly Richard O'Briens' site. It's complete with the vigin's guild and FAQ about the show. All these site are very well done and I might add, more than a little awesome and amazing. Exploring can be fun.

Posted: 9/5/03 at 7:19pmI first saw the movie as an accident. My dad was watching it on Comedy Central, but when he noticed that I was paying attention, he turned it off. Well, because of him, I had the itch to see it again. Well, I did and loved it! Flash forward. I somehow became friends with Tom Hewitt. I went and saw the show his final week. I loved it! Very nice!

DofB, you got off easy. I had a friend who was chased around the theatre until they caught her, on her "virgin" trip.
I saw one of Kristen Lee Kelly's first shows, when she was a little rocky (pun intended). However, I saw her again later and thought that she was marvelous. After Alice became tired of the show and starting walking through it and/or goofing off throughout it, I started hoping that KLK would be on when we went.

EXCELLENT one, J!
Piglet, by "burning cross" what do you mean? That's a tattoo that could cause trouble. Unless Jarrod has some affiliations we don't know about.

Namo,
You'd have to ask Jarrod. I have never talked with him regarding his tattoo. As for anything bad...I seriously doubt it!

I loved his performance as Brad. Beautiful voice.

BT11, I never doubted this thread would get many post. See, I am familiar with the cult interest in the movie and stage show. Thought maybe you would be too. I'm sorry my response to you, which I thought was congenial, affable, and information was not to your liking. Sorry I suggested something on a topic which you brought to the board. Silly me for thinking you were truly interested in ROCKY HORROR and might just find it worthwhile.
And thank you so much for your offer to come get me, sweetie, but it really isn't necessary. I can find my way here just fine.
Now as for the need respond with name calling...well...who looks like the ass? But if that makes you feel better, feel important, feel like an adult then that's fine.

I am soooo sorry! I should be ashamed of myself! Also, I should have known you were not being sarcastic, etolie! You are never sarcastic on this board. Oh, and just to let you know, I don't need to be told how to go to Yahoo.com and perform a search, thanks anyways. You are always sooo thoughtful.
