I've seen MIss. Flannery done in drag in Thoroughly Modern Millie. And although it never came to fruition, Billy Porter auditioned for the 2002 Into the Woods revival for the role of The Witch after having auditioned for The Baker. I'm not sure if they intended to have him play the role as a woman or man, but either way it fascinates me!

There was a production of Into the Woods in Philadelphia in the late 1980's done in the style of a British pantomime: Jack was played by a girl, and the comic "hag" roles of Jack's Mother and Cinderella's stepmother were played by men.
Dr. Dysart in EQUUS has been played by women.
Brian Bedford in THE IMPORTANCE...
Ally Sheedy played Hedwig.
A woman as Dysart? I'm assuming they changed the lines about him not being able to get his wife pregnant because of his low sperm count?

One role that no one mentioned is the reporter (the "sob sister") in "Chicago." I saw the original production on Broadway, with a man playing the "sob sister."
One show that is almost too obvious is "La Cage Aux Folles." I think the whole drag chorus is supposed to be male, except for one or two women playing men in drag.
Another one, depending how you look at it, is "Il Muto," the opera-within-an-opera in "Phantom of the Opera." Christine plays the silent trouser role of a young man in drag as the cheating wife's pretty maid.
