"Bea Asher in Ballroom. What queen wouldn't love to warble Fifty Percent? "
About 10 years ago a friend of mine starred in a community prod of TORCH SONG TRILOGY and he chose 50% as the song to sing at the end of Cct One, Scene 4. Very effective!
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

i have always said that if I ever directed Into the Woods, I would want the Stepmother and Stepsisters to be played by men.
I also second Ursula in The Little Mermaid

Posted: 5/26/05 at 5:38pmJustice -- Cole Porter's estate apparently doesn't think Reno should be played by a man. They were apparently livid. Perhaps with good reason. When a man sings "Baby, I'm the bottom, you're the top." and "Blow Gabriel Blow" it does change the meaning of a show just a touch...
