For all you fans of Rome, of which I am one, this new season is the last!!!!!!!! I don't know, HBO is not keeping these shows on long anymore. e.g. Carnivale, Deadwood

I LOVE Rome...my 16-year-old sister got me watching it! I guess HBO's method is to end their shows on a high note. But you might want to take this to the Off-Topic Board...just sayin'.

HBO was short sighted cancelling Deadwood. As far as ROME, they have a big financial investment in it ( cost of set construction alone) so unless it totally tanks in the ratings, it should be around after next season although with HBO you never know. They probably made a choice between Deadwood & ROME & Deadwood will soon be on Boot Hill

One of the strongest charactors was Caesar ( best portrayal of him I have ever seen ) so how it will fare without him is anyones guess. The episode ( I believe # 11 ) where there was a gladiatoral fight, was amazing

Season 1 is out on DVD on 8/15. It's on the top of my Blockbuster queue.
