I only got halfway through before turning it off, but I didn't think it was terrible, I just got bored.

"I can imagine that a lot of people decided not to tune because Rosie isn't really popular after the way she acted on The View."

...and how she acts on her own old TV show and how she acts in life in general. If you disagree with her politics, she becomes becomes a raving lunatic. Nobody wants to watch someone who is constantly speaking from her pulpit.

I didn't watch the variety show but I heard that she continued to rant about Donald Trump, Nancy Grace, and Bill O'Reilly. When that's all you heard this woman do is get into fights with these people, it just isn't funny.

It was a big black and red, loud, unfocused mess and I was very disappointed. I expected a candid, quiet, funny, and grand affair, not a big over-sexed 21st century side show. You couldn't understand half of it because there was so much yelling and sloppy transition work. The wrong approach for any variety show...

But as said, people today can make their own variety shows on youtube and iTunes...

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

I like Rosie and I usually agrees with her politics! The reason why I did not like the show- is just its BORING and very UNIMAGINATIVE/ UNINSPIRED!

You know its 2008! We seen shows like SEX IN THE CITY, TORCHWOOD and so on.. that pushed the envelop. Her ROSIE LIVE really does not offer ANYTHING NEW! I know, its a genre that she wants to revive, but c'mon~inspire us, challenge us...her sketch are tiresome and been there..done that...an example is the pie on Conan's face... at this day and age? is that REALLY funny? we seen comedies that push the envelop such as AMERICAN PIE, THERE's SOMETHING ABOUT MARY and the recent SNL's skits...

The scene where Alec Baldwin and Harry Connick, Jr.~where they have to speak at Rosie's bossom is just plain UNCALLED FOR! and this is coming from a guy (who likes to post over the top/ risque photos here..LOL!) That whole sketch is soo AWKWARD! and that gay talk with Clay~ you guys know me-i love anything that's gay and over the top. That double entender wth Clay Aiken is so awkward too!
Duh? Its like we did not know it?

The finale part where she is singing and dancing with Gloria Estefan and Rachel Ray is just plain moronic! (i'm sorry to say!) Food dancing, Rachel Ray carrying a TURKEY! WTF! I think she's done something already like this at THE VIEW...I think I saw her onetime singing with Candy Bars, Fruits, etc...

here you go...( I will look for more later)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gIJ6bmhMkQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43nCcWahvIU

I mean.. Rosie~give us something NEW and INNOVATIVE to inspire us> because we have so much selections nowadays...I would rather check my facebook and look at my friend's pages & photos rather than see her show again!

and lastly.. I so agree with this...

But as said, people today can make their own variety shows on youtube and iTunes...

and sometimes people there are MORE ENTERTAINING!

I didn't see this but from what I have read and heard, I am glad I didn't. We all know that Rosie is from the Island of Lesbos- she needs to stop wearing it on her sleeve- no one cares - even though Prop 8 ws defeated, most of the country, is by now ho hum about gays. Thank G-d. Celebrities who come out are now just another bit of info on page 6...and no surprise to find out that they are. I think that most people also view her as a mean spirited bully whose cutesypie personna is a ruse to hide her nastiness and crudeness. While her admiration for tthe Broadway community is admirable and heartfelt, she needs to let the talent just do their thing and step aside. Maybe hiring "straight" writers would have made it more professional and entertaining. Great idea evidently gone wrong.

The variety show format floundered because the culture (and entertainment) split in the 60's and by the time the 70's had rolled to a close the fissure was too big to gap. Before that, parents, kids & everybody listened and watched more or less the same stuff. You'd have a family watch TV together and all enjoy (or at least sit through) a country act, a variety act, a lounge act, a rock act....Not so any more.

I can not imagine anyone who actually likes Liza sitting through Neyo or Alanis's songs. And of course, vice versa. The Tonight Show did audience research that showed them to always put the musical guest last because there was just too much of a chance that the genre (whatever it was) would be off-putting to a portion of the audience and they'd tune out.

Of course, people might have watched if the show wasn't so damn awful.

What I personally would have liked more of in the show -- stuff showcasing current Broadway shows and performers -- might not have brought in a larger audience. But it might have. At least it would have helped make the show more coherent and cohesive. What I wanted was the 2008 equivalent of the affection and talent showcased in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBz2Om69Irk.

That headline just isn't correct. The show was the fifth-lowest rated show of the evening. It beat out "Pushing Daisies," a "House" rerun and two back to back episodes of "Stylista" on The CW, which didn't even crack one million viewers.

Oh, here's the source: http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/11/ratings-wednesd.html

And, for the record, I am not a Rosie apologist and did not like the show at all. I just feel that threads like this should have the facts correct before the mud flies.

Wow. Sounds like she was partying like it was 1997.

Were Andy Williams or Bing Crosby wearing their heterosexuality on their ugly Christmas sweater sleeves every time they hauled their untalented families out for their specials?

Amalia... that was a wonderful last show that Rosie did way back then. It was funny, whimsical, enjoyable and not vulgar like "Rosie Live". Thanks for the link. from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
