If I read these ratings right, only one person in a hundred tuned in to see Rosie embarrass herself? I guess considering the horrible, awful, no-good reviews, she might consider that a blessing. Fewer people watched this than Pushing Daisies and they already cancelled that. There is NO WAY she will get to do this again, even if she paid for it herself.

Rosie just isn't wanted on TV anymore, especially after THE VIEW.

It seems she's better accepted on stage these days.

I am NOT suprised! Overall- The show is really unwatchable ! Well.. It seems like how can you revive a genre that's long gone in the time of facebook, youtube, blackerry, iPOd & mtv videos online~where everyone have access to your favorite singers/performers certain musical number anytime! 24/7~who really needs a variety show? I am not saying that as a detractor of variety show..but you have to consider the fact that Talent shows contests such as American Idol & Dancing with the Stars had a succesful comeback -its because of audience participation such as voting thru your cellular phones, online, etc.. I mean..today's technology!

Also..correct me if I am wrong? Isn't the reason why videos from MTV was invented its because there are no variety shows anymore in the early 80s to showcase musican's music on TV? ~My point is why watch a variety show where you can see
a million dollar videos of your favorite performer- with a budget like that the sky is the limit (music videos are MORE VISUAL than ever) Plus people have MORE WAYS of entertaining themselves now than in the 50's or 60's.

A very good example is the internet~message board- that's why we post its because we can PARTICIPATE! I mean- everyone's opinion can be heard nowadays and that's whats going to kill Rosie's show- the BAD WORD OF MOUTH (as in audience participation thru the internet)

Two Key Words that we have now in 2008 : EASY ACCESSIBILITY and CHOICES of Entertainments.

Let me add... one more thing. I truly feel sorry for Liza Minnelli. It's almost she made a wrong career decision by appearing at Rosie's opening number. you know- she has a show on broadway next month and you expect people to pay $125.00 to $65.00 (cheapest tix) to see her? I am saying this coming from a guy who seen her last Saturday and completely ADORE her afterwards- let me assure you.. that she was great in RI~ I am sure she would be great on Broadway too. But of course-most people did not see her pre-engagement show in Woonsocket and I am afraid that they might judge Liza thru her performance at Rosie (as the LA TIMES reviews said... we love you liza but there's no shame in retirement) that's why I say- I think it was a bad move on Liza's part! re: Rosie Live was the lowest rated show of the night

I hated it she could come back to Broadway.

I think it was a bad move on Liza's part!

To be a Liza fan is to accustom oneself to "bad moves on Liza's part." Singing "City Lights" with Rosie is nothing compared to some of the men she's married.

- If I recall correctly. She received positive reviews for her NON-SINGING role in Nanette at Encores!

And I don't remember her FIDDLER reviews being too terrible.

Did you hear her last night?!

She couldn't hold a tune if it had a handle.

It was painful.

Yes. she is an atrocious singer. And she knows she can't sing, so she really should stop.

I'm not a fan of her at all, but she can do fine in non-singing roles.

It was an awful show. It wasn't even a variety show. It felt more like a tribute to Rosie. From her ruining what could have been a fabulous number by Liza to Alec Baldwin shoving his face into her breasts, it was lower than low.

That's nice Phyl. Fun fact: He and I both hail from the same town. And I love him on 30 Rock. However, his bit with Rosie was painfully, um, just painful. What were they thinking?

He did and Rosie didn't look terrible either. She decided to wear some makeup. That was a plus.

What was needed was Simon, Paula and Randy.
"Yo, man, that was pitchy. And dated."
"Wosie, you look shooo...nishe. Thif is shoo wonderpul that you can do thish even when evewyone hacheschoo after the View. Touchdown!" *slips back under the table*
"Awful. Simply awful. Abysmal."
Seacrest: "You can't disguise your Rosie-love, Simon. heehee"
Simon, while rubbing his nipples: "Oh, shut-up, Ryan. Take note of Clay and use this opportunity to come out of the closet, why don't you, you simpering twit."

It would have still been awful but at least the audience, although small, would have been entertained.

I can imagine that a lot of people decided not to tune because Rosie isn't really popular after the way she acted on The View. I didn't watch and I'm glad I didn't, it sounds like it was a complete train wreck.

I did not watch it. I think Rosie has a good heart. But she is starving for attention. Her daytime show was special cause it was one of a kind. She is sooo 90's. Sorry Rosie! but I remember the good ol days when she hosted the Nickelodeon Award shows.

You think that disastrous performance by Liza would have been fabulous if only Rosie hadn't been there?

This variety show was horrid! I told Rosie what I thought on her website. It was complete TRASH.

I was really looking forward to this show, since some of my favs were appearing, and I have no issues with Rosie.

What a downer - one of the most un-entertaining hours on TV. Seth Rudetsky was one of the writers? Did he leave his talent in a bathhouse somewhere, or what? On every level, this was diaster TV.
