This evening, I got a call offering 3 tickets for $155 for any 3 of the next 4 Roundabout plays. These tickets can be used for any seat at any performance, and are less than half-price. While I turned the offer down since I generally tend to rush, I figured I'd tell you people about the offer, since it sounds like a great deal.

Prepare yourself for incessant calls.

Never give Roundabout your real phone number.

Or keep your out of state cell phone number. They haven't seemed to call me yet. Unless it's one of those numbers I don't recognize and don't pick up. Though...would they be calling from Illinois?

The Roundabout aggravated the living daylights out of me with phone calls at any time of the day and night--even after 9 PM when it's against the law to make telephone solicitations in New York State. Finally I reported them to the State and demanded that the Roundabout take me off their calling list. It worked.

I now purchase Roundabout tickets only at the box office. If I ever had to buy by phone, I'd give them the phone number of the local Dial-A-Prayer. Anyone who makes telephone solicitations after 9 PM needs Jesus anyhow.

Wow. Somehow I've missed the call list.

Though like I said, I don't answer if I don't recognize the number.

If you would just answer your phone when they call and tell them you're not interested, they'd stop calling.

Why do people have such a difficult time saying no?

They called me again just now after less than a week ago I told them I never wanted them to call me again. The guy was very nice about it and promised they wouldn't last time. Yet here we are again. I've received at least a dozen phone calls from them over the past couple of months.

This is simply unacceptable. Is there really nothing that can be done? I stored their number in my phone so I don't pick it up, but that won't stop them from calling.

They had to call me to tell me about the canceled performance of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, but now they keep calling to insist that they mail me the tickets instead of me picking them up at the box office... I really don't understand.

But I generally don't answer the phone, even if I know the people that are calling.
