Who is looking forward to it? This year RC and i took the plunge and got each other memberships for the season.
I am excited! This is my first year getting the 7 show subscription. We have Blythe Danner, Kristin Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Alfred Molina, Swoosie Kurtz, Phillip Bosco, the list goes on.

Anyone who subscribes to the Roundabout gets hounded with phone calls ad infinitum. That's one place where I try to buy my tickets directly at the box office. If I MUST purchase tickets on-line, I give them the phone number of the local dial-a-prayer.
When I subscribed, I got phone calls for promotions and merchandise that nearly drove me crazy.
Actually we bought the tickets befor the casting of Cheno was announced. Dollypop as far as "hounded with phone calls" just ask when they call to put you on a do not call list, because you will get more of a donation when we renew.

I had asked them to put me on the "do not call list" but that lasted about 12 minutes. I was really going crazy with them for a while.
this is going to be one of Roundabout's finest seasons I can remember.
I wish I had a subscription
I can't stand the Roundabout people either.
Manhattan Theatre Club stalks me as well.
The man from Roundabout called me 7 times in one evening until I finally answered. I just told him that I was not interested in subscribing right now, and that this was a really inconvenient time. He proceeded to tell me all the money and frustration I would save by just becoming a member. I told him no thank you. He said "But I see here that you paid over $100 for your PAJAMA GAME tickets...join now and never pay that much again!"
I finally just hung up.

So I guess to join Roundabout, the registration isn't free, or is it?
and someone told me that when became a subscriber for ROUNDABOUT that they gave her sh*tty seats for all her productions. that's why i've steered away from them because i've heard they are horrible to their subscribers

I've been a subscriber for a while and have excellant seats which I won't give in. I was sick last Friday and released my ticket in the morning and I go see "Heartbreak House" when I want. They're good about that.
I have one of the social series subs where they have a little party afterwards and I've met a bunch of actors at the after parties.
When I subscribed, they asked me "Which series do you want, the straight one or the gay and lesbian?" I waited 10 seconds and replied "Can you give me a moment to decide?" Then I said "Put me down for the straight one."
Don't ever give them private contact info...they are terrible.

I don't subscribe to Roundabout because you can volunteer usher for everything there. It saves a ton of money, and in the case of their last season, there's no horrible sting of money lost from sitting through crap like Mr. Marmalade or the revivals of The Threepenny Opera and Entertaining Mr. Sloane.
aww i actially LIKED Entertaing Mr. Sloane!
It's a good play, but it was a bad production. The director obviously had no idea what story he wanted to tell, and it stifled the actors. I felt bad for Chris Carmack because he didn't have a definite direction to go with the character. He came off as kind of a mean but charming guy that has bad things happen around him. Alec Baldwin seemed like he was on some strange autopilot.

Why would they hound people so much on the phone? Does RoundAbout Theatre look for a lot of donations?

Speaking of which, I know that there's some people on here who are planning to see '12 Angry Men', anyone else here plans to see it? I'd love to see it, but unfortunately, the play isn't coming to my home town
. Maybe someday they'll make another movie version of '12 Angry Men' with Richard Thomas.
