The following was performed at the 1972 Tony Awards:
From NO, NO NANETTE: A medley was performed -- Helen Gallagher and Bobby Van performed "You Can Dance With Any Girl" and Ruby Keeler and company performed "I Want To Be Happy".

I know a few who do have the full 1972 Tony Awards show, but alas... aren't savy enough to format and post things on YouTube.com.
If I had this particular Tonys I would have done so already.

Can't you slip one of them a Roofie and grab it?
Were there even Betamaxes in 1972? Or did those people have to steal 3/4 videos from Alex Cohen's office and transfer them to Super 8 or something?

Oh, they obtained the Tonys the same way we all do -- via those God-sent bootleg collectors. I have NO idea how these video copies exist as home video recorders didn't become commercially available until the late 1970's and those early Tony Awards shows (from the first televised one in 1967) are available and most still with the original commercials, which means they were recorded with some home video recorder. Weird.

Posted: 4/12/08 at 12:39amRoofie is the date rape drug Rohypnol or flunitrazipan. A few drops in your drink when you're not looking and you wake up with sore nether parts and no memory of what happened.

I think that "Bootleg" is such an unpleasant term.
What we are, or what those people who have snuck tape and video recorders into theaters (not that I have EVER done that, though I must admit that at times, yes, there has been a cord running from my tie tack to the inside breast pocket of my jacket) are are "secret history keepers".
