I heard the lovely leading lady of WICKED can not sign any more autographs due to restrictions with her record label.
Any truth to this one? Who's seen it lately?

Yes it's true. Most record lables forbid their artists from signing autographs as it takes away from album sales.

Just a thought...how would this take away from sales? It seems it would encourage people who anticipate meeting her to buy her cds because they would want her to autograph it. Even if they didn't want the cd itself that much, it would be a piece of memorabilia. Maybe they wouldn't buy it at all if there were no hope of her signing it.

I understand that the record label is so strict abut this stipulation, that Kristen no longer leaves the theater. She has completely moved into her dressing room and never goes out, lest someone approach her for her autograph.

So that's why she never comes out the stage door anymore? That makes no sense to me. I don't understand why her being gracious to her fans and signing autographs would sell less CDs.

She should at least come out and wave to people haha or something because that really blows for all those hard core Cheno fans. I guess I was lucky enough to catch the show a week after it opened.

You spelled Kristin wrong.

And also...I believe she does not come out of the stage door during this time of year due to the large crowds. Obviously, to stand outside there for however long to sign for however many fans, she is risking sickness, and she doesn't want that. Obviously she knows she has a low immune system...so she doesn't go out and risk getting sick, that simple.

I'm sure when the weather gets nicer, she'll start coming out again.

Ha! Does anyone seem to understand WHY the record label wont let her? I went during previews and i got both Kristin's and Idina's autographs so i guess i lucked out!! But i still dont see the logic in it!

It has nothing to do with "taking away sales"- it has to do with signing a competing label's cd. While she is under contract with Sony for her CD's, they do not want her promoting another label's CD...i.e. why she was not present at the CD signing.

If you believe that Chenoweths label has ANY qualms about her signing autographs, than I've got an excellent piece of swampland for sale, to the highest bidder. PLEASE, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's laugh out loud funny in it's sheer absurdity.

Some labels dont want their artists to sign anything OTHER than CDs to promote album sales. IE: "I cant sign this, but if you go over there and buy my cd, I can sign that."
Its just like a record store meet and greet, you gotta buy the album.

She can't write. The record label didn't want any more people knowing she can only wave and make a big X. It's due to her failing immune system. She got pinkeye in November from touching another label's CD and lost her ability to dot i's with smiley faces. And I heard she got pregnant from drinking apple martinis in her dressing room. We should send her a greeting card in a bubble.

Hey, she can always be in the sequel to the Bubble Boy movie.

Let us remember that these are all rumors and speculations. If her cd is released at the same time the Spring weather comes about, and she starts signing things again, we may never know what the truth was. :[
