Ugh I hope not. I'm so sick of seeing Kelli O'hara in the same old ingenue parts she has been doing for pretty much a decade now. It's getting tiresome. Please give someone else a shot. Kelsey Grammer is a fine actor but I can't help but think there are a handful of Actors better for this role than him..

I wouldn't consider any of her Broadway roles to be true ingenues since Clara in Light in the Piazza.

You're a douche. Show some respect to a true Broadway legend.
I'm a douche because I'd rather see someone different as Eliza? Lol okay buddy.
^No. You're just a douche.

Grammer's a bit old for Higgins, isn't he? Why not cast someone under 50 in the role?

I agree with Hamilton22. Kelli is good and all, but the role should be given to a younger, unknown soprano ......... much like how Julie Andrews was when Lerner and Lowe took a chance on her

You're a douche because of how you delivered your opinion. Not because of the actual opinion. Plenty of people voice displeasure about performers without being complete douches.

Starting to smell like a Summers Eve in here.

It's not what you said, it's just the arrogant way in which you said it.
I'd like to see Kelli in a new musical also while she is still in her prime, but she did try that in Madison County and it didn't work out too well.

That is not her fault. That is easily the fault of the producers and marketing team. They did a terrible job.

Francesca and Anna are ingenues?
Kelli O'Hara is great and all, but I'm in the camp that would love to see someone young, fresh, and new take on the role. It worked for Julie Andrews back in the day, and I think carrying that tradition would be wonderful, especially if they already get someone big like Grammer in the role of Higgins.
I think Hamilton22 is mistaking "ingenue" for "pretty soprano role in Broadway shows," in which case I agree. Give someone else a chance.
I didn't say that it was Kelli's fault. Most agree that the central love story accompanied by the passionate music was fine, but the rest of the show was too dreadful.
O'Hara has said publicly that it was the role of her career in which she had invested the most of her emotions. She had to be deeply affected by its failure.
Kelli is fine and all but she's far too old for this part and I can't imagine anyone else in this role but Laura Benanti. She'd be perfection.

I won't be checking anything, little girl.

we HAVE to have a my fair lady revival...come on broadway!
Not wild about grammar as higgins. thought he was lackluster in neverland.
was very excited when they were talking about colin firth for the role dont know about his singing
would prefer a top british actor who can sing as well
Im excited about Kelli Ohara for eliza... she would do a fantastic job and we would get a fine new cast recording on broadway, which would be very welcome.
I'm also fine with another actress, just make sure she can sing and carry off the accent and the accent transition over the show while both speaking and singing, which is much harder to do well than most think.
O'Hara and Grammar in My Fair Lady would be the equivalent of Elaine Stritch and Tommy Tune in The King and I, for those who get the reference.
