If anyone knows I would be greatly appreciative.

Whatever it is, including King Of Broadway would not have been tragic time wise. Big big mistake it not being in the movie

2 hours 14 minutes. So wow, they have cut some. The night I saw the show it was close to 3 hours long.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

The King of Broadway cutting was not because it made the film longer, nor was it because it dragged the film down in anyway. It was cut b/c it was one of the more crude songs in the show, and they wanted a PG-13 rating. *is mad about that*

They shold have left every song. Am I the only one who's mad about them not doing "Where Did We Go Right?"

I agree about the "King of Broadway". Did they ever shoot it for the movie? If so maybe it will be included in a director's cut.

I wonder what Max is going to say in "Betrayed" since there is no intermisson.

Screw the PG 13 rating. This is the ******* Producers by Mel ( Blazing Saddles) Brooks. Since when is he worried by sensibilities. He will lose more admissions by those who want it in than those who might not want it in. Is this going to be the sanitized Producers ? Is Ulla going to be a nun ? Give me a break

With KING gone along with Where did we go right, why even bother. I will remember the show as it was & skip it

I too, am amazed that Brooks would care about the rating, although knowing the stupid nature of the MPAA, the film would probably be R with "The King of Broadway," considering it says the f word once! That's our rating system for you.
I agree though that it was a huge mistake to cut "Where did we go right." One of my favorite lines in the show is " Oh we knew we couldn't lose; half the audience were Jews." That song is hysterical, and I am shocked they removed it, as it is only like 2 minutes long anyway. Does anybody know why they cut "Where did we go right?"

They DID shoot "King of Broadway", but cut it during editing. It's included as a "bonus" on the soundtrack CD also.

It bugs me that they cut either "King" OR Where Did We Go Right"--and added a couple of songs that weren't in the show. If they wanted to cut a song because it bogged things down, I think they should have cut "Never say goodluck on opening night". It always felt like one of those songs they included because there were lots of cast people changing clothes or something lol.

I doubt we will ever know the real reason King came out. The F word once ain't it. You use darn instead if you are so worried about it

This from the man who did the Dawn of Man sequence in History Of The World. What a shame as I was really looking forward to the movie. Oh well. There is always King Kong

The F word in "King" is in a sexual context, so that would mean an R. The two new songs are on the credits, so they aren't supplanting anything. Listening to "King" on the CD, I'm sad it's gone, but this is one cut I can at least understand--they want to get to the main thrust of the plot with the flop play scheme as soon as possible. "Opening Night" more or less sums up how Max is perceived these days. The film plays fine without it; no crucial plot (*cough*RENT*cough*) is lost in the process. It's just too bad Lane's performance isn't quite the tour de force it would've been had it been left in.

I worked on the movie, and all this discussion about King Of Broadway being cut because of the F word is absurd. It was cut because they wanted to get the plot of the movie started as early as possible. Everyone can believe whatever they want, but that's the real reason.

Evidence? I was there when Mel made the decision. Sorry I didn't have the forethought to videotape him.
