I have two questions about student rush and general rush tickets.
If I buy two student rush tickets for 25$ as a student (obviously) can the second be used for someone who is not a student?
and
For general rush can anyone put their name in a hat or just an adult?
P.S. Please dont refer allthatchat.com for answers. It's a great site to find out which shows have SRO and Rush tickets but I can't find the answers to my questions.
Thanks in advance!
1. Yes
2. Yes. "General" means anyone can enter their name if it's a lottery, or buy a ticket if it's not.
Yes.
and
General Rush is the same as student rush except that anyone can buy the $25 seats.
Your thinking of Lotto where anyone can put their name in the hat in hopes of being picked.
....and Emcee beat me to it.
Ya thats what I meant Lotto.
Thanks for your quick responses!
Actually...does anyone have a current list of when the shows actually do their lotteries?
For example, PLaybill.com says that Drowsy does their lottery only one hour before showtime...eeek.
Lotto times (from what I can remember):
Hairspray: names collected 3 hours before, names drawn 30 minutes later
Avenue Q, Chorus Line, Rent, Wicked: names collected 2.5 hours before, names drawn 30 minutes later
Spelling Bee: names collected 2 hours before, names drawn 30 minutes later
Drowsy: names collected 90 minutes before, names drawn 30 minutes later
Hairspray makes an exception on two-performance Sundays (1:30 and 6:30) where they collect names 2 hours before and draw names 30 minutes later.

what exactly are rush tickets? you go to the theatre and you can get your tickets there for that night? im kinda confused, please dont bite my head off. im new at this lol Updated On: 2/21/07 at 06:45 PM
Yes, rush tickets are discounted tickets for the performance that day. Some shows will only sell the tickets to students, and others are sold to anyone who wants them. Not all shows offer them, though.
