You can probably get there at any time. I was able to get tickets at like 6:30 for an 8 p.m. show. They weren't in the front, so I assume those go first, but you don't need to line up before the box office opens or anything.

I got there around 6:30 for an 8:00 show as well (after doing Hair lottery and losing) and ended up getting front row on the aisle. I think you'll be ok no matter what time you get there.

I got there at 6:50 for a 7:00 show and got a seat about four seats from the last row of the Orchestra. The overhang is pretty bad but you don't miss anything at all up there besides more of the brick wall. The view was far back but fine.
