i agree with that, although i thought drew would be REALLY bad, and he did better than i thought. good for him... bring back KEVIN SPENCer for Roger
You're all worried about a pop singer going into a show that's all pop music...I don't get you guys.
It's definitely possible. I think he's fantastic. I don't understand why people are so opposed to stars being in theatre - if they're actually talented, which Cabrera is, there should be no opposition. Joey Fatone wasn't half bad, and DRew Lachey was actually great when I saw him. And you all know that I'm very harsh with my opinions on shows, and I thought Lachey was really great. Scary Spice was an abomination, but I think Cabrera will work really really well.
Ryan Cabrera? my opinion on him is that yes he can sing, but I'm biased and think some ppl should just stick to their pop music. Yes that is incredibly biased but hey, its the way i think of it.
Rent IS pop music. Anyone with a decent pop voice should be just fine. You're all being hypocritical.
I guess I am, but I never really liked Ryan Cabrera.
He's not exciting, but he has a good enough voice. He's not exactly William Hung, and Rent isn't exactly Oklahoma.
Hey Sally, what if I said "Ugh, Kristin Chenoweth should just stick to Broadway and stop doing these movies and tv shows!"
I agree, Rath - plus, I'm a huge fan of his.
I dunno munkustrap, Kristin Chenoweth is a lot mroe talented than Ryan Cabrera. I just never liked him.
I understand being upset about pop stars in some shows - but Rent? Seriously, people.
::shrugs:: i guess you're right
I think he's talented... so, why not? *shrug*
You better believe that I will be there his FIRST night!
Right, but it's not going to work just by virtue of the fact that he can sing pop music. He's got to be able to act at least a little bit.
I really dig Ryan's album. He has a nice recording voice and seems like he might be a great fit for Rent. I say bring him on.
Oy.
Guys, this is NOT TRUE. Ryan was there on Monday night, yes. And he had been in talks to play ROGER, not Mark. If it happened, it would happen in July/August, after Cary's contract is up, but as of last night, there was a "slim to none" chance of it happening.
If they stunt cast Roger EVER, I won't be happy. Better be "slim to none."
Leave me alone, I'm sick. I'm allowed to be irrational.
I pictured him as Roger...hmm

Does anyone know anything of his acting ability? I really know nothing about him, so I won't judge but if he can sing and act, I say let him in.
Doesn't matter.
Stunt casting Roger = VERY UNHAPPY ME.
/irrationality. For now.
I didn't say I wanted him as Roger, I just said I pictured him as one more than as a Mark.
He definitely looks more like a Roger, I'll give him that.
... but no. Please, no.
