Posted: 1/5/08 at 9:57pmI got there at 9:30 last time and was one of the last to get tickets, I'd say get there around 8 30, but if you arrive after 7:30 you can still get tickets, especially since the BO opens at 12 tomorrow.

I highly doubt the line will be packed by 7:30, the box office opens at NOON.
On days when the box office opens at 10, I've gotten there at 7:30 or so. I would imagine there's a bit more of a window when it opens at 12.

Posted: 1/5/08 at 11:09pmI forgot it opens at noon, but I would still get there kind of early. I would imagine weekends would get more crowded, but I got there around 8:15 on Wednesday and did NOT get tickets.

I've rushed on both typical days (Mon.-Sat.) and Sunday (this past fall) and we got there at the same time on both occasions...around 7:45. We got excellent seats and were approx. the 5th-6th people in line.
I think the cold weather may discourage some people from rushing so early/or at all - i.e. I was there last week and tickets were available even at 11:30.
But if you want the full experiance and the best shot at getting a seat with full-view, or the possibility of on-stage seating, grab a book and hit the concrete early!

Wait, you seriously get there on a Monday at 7-30am when the BO opens at 10am? That's insane. I was thinking of rushing a Monday show in Feb. but there is no way I am getting there before 9am.
I didn't realize so many people student-rushed the show.

Well, some the shows I rushed may have been under special circumstances because one of the admired swings (Matt Doyle) was going on as Melchior (the lead) all weekend. My roomate and I got there at 7:45 and as time went on we watched about 45-50 people get in line behind us (we stopped counting)...It was crazy!! I rushed 2 days that weekend, Fri & Sunday. Maybe that wasn't a true representation of what rush is like.
I'll bet that on a Monday morning in Feb. you won't need to get there that early.

I think that's generally true. Plus, on a Sunday with 2 performances, you should get lucky and be able to get good seats for the evening show if you arrive at a decent time.
I think on Sundays, with the box office opening at 12, many people go to matinees so they only have to kill an hour or so before seeing the show. My roomate and I when we rushed a Sunday, had no idea the box office opened at 12 lol. We were exhausted by the time we got our tickets - but were one of the first people to request the evening show. Have fun!

Posted: 1/6/08 at 3:03amYou think 7:30 for a 10am box office opening time is insane? Apparently you don't know broadway student rush... try camping out over night for tickets which is not that unheard of.

Hahaa you would think that, wouldn't you? It was FREEZING on Wednesday and people were there with pillows and blankets.

"I think the cold weather may discourage some people from rushing so early/or at all..."
It's been warmer than usual the past couple of days. Today it was almost 60, and tomorrow it is supposed to be around 60.
