Posted: 6/17/06 at 1:02amCompletely depends. Base minimum is $1365 - that's just for an ensemble track. The actors' agents negotiate their salaries...Apparantly Matthew and Nathan were each making $100k a week during the producers at some point. I heard (second hand) that Kristen and Idina started out at $5k a week with Wicked and got drastic raises when the show exploded as a hit...

Posted: 6/17/06 at 3:30amAh well, if you're going to be "that guy" then I'll be "that girl" who complains about the excess of caps in the title, seems to be a particularly rife trend tonight, come on now, are your threads that much more important?...or are you and the shift key having an illicit affair?

Posted: 6/17/06 at 12:05pmWhy do you feel the need to be "that guy" or "that girl". If you don't link the topic of the thread don't read it. Also, I'm pretty sure that there aren't any rules as to how one person wants to type their own thread, but clearly you two have appointed yourselves message board police.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 2:51pmWow...for Manhattan standards...$1500-$2500 per week is pretty minimal. Not that I thought anyone was making 20K a week or anything but...wow...considering they have to pay agents and publicists....that's not a hell of a lot.

#15re: SALARY OF A BROADWAY LEAD ROLE
Posted: 6/17/06 at 7:07pmI thought it was like...twice at least that for a lead role.

According to the stage manager for the Phantom tour that came through Kalamazoo in April, chorus for POTO gets paid a whopping 10,000 a week! Which includes the stippend because it is a touring show. So I guess Phantom pays extremely well.
Now, the credibility of this story is pretty good in my eyes, because it came right from the SM's mouth in a conversation we had.
Those who want to argue or correct that is fine, but Im just telling you my side, and what I've heard. :)!

Posted: 6/17/06 at 7:53pmI didn't know that SM's made so much more than actors.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 7:54pmEquity dues are 2% of your salary. In other words, if you are making $1500 a week, $30 is taken out of your check for dues each week.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 8:15pmStagerage, there's no way that the ensemble members of the Phantom tour are making $10,000 a week. Zero chance.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 8:18pmWell, he was obviously kidding you. I have a friend who's a lead in a longrunning Broadway show, has been in the show for 7+ years, total of tour and Broadway cast, and who is making less than a third of that. So I can say, there's no way the touring cast ensemble members are making $10,000/week, stipend or no stipend.

Now how do I know that you're not 'kidding' you gave no credentials...and secondly it was a very serious conversation we were having, because I was asking about the business and about life on a tour and all of that. I believe it was "Is it worth it to be on a tour?" SM said "yes they make it worth the while" I said "so How much do you make, because you have to pay for hotels and such" they said "Chorus in this show gets 10 grand a week" I flipped my bucket, but it's true.
And it all made sense as to why they all stayed in suites in the most expensive hotel in the city.
#24re: SALARY OF A BROADWAY LEAD ROLE
Posted: 6/17/06 at 8:27pmso how much would be leftover if one were to make $1,465 a week and pay an agent, publicist, and AEA?
