SAVE JERSEY BOYS IN TORONTO

I love this show and have seen 6x in nyc and now i hear it's not selling in Toronto! what shame. Do you think its because the theatre is bad location? I saw showboat there and it was just too far away and ZERO good food close by.

re: SAVE JERSEY BOYS IN TORONTO

Didn't even think it was open yet.

I personally don't mind going up to North York to see shows at the TO Centre. I have seen friends perform there many times, in some of the smaller spaces. The subway ride isn't that bad. And many of my friends there feel the same. Plus, if you drive, there's ample parking and it's only a few blocks north of the 401. So it's not hard to get to.

I think it has more to do with the lack of good publicity than the actual location. They spent a fortune on television ads but seemed to have skimped on newspaper and billboard ads, so people don't really know anything about it, unless they happen to watch a few specific local tv stations. Dancap in general hasn't been selling well.

I have seen lots of billboard ads for Jersey Boys in Toronto... and in the newspaper aswell. It is a bit more north but right on the subway line. And it hasn't opened yet, it opens in July

August, not July.
And they spent a considerable amount on a recent TV campaign.

True, my bad.
And now that you mention it I have seen ads on tv for Jersey Boys

The only reasons I haven't gone to see it yet is because a) I have no time with exams b) I have no money because I have no time to work and c) I wasn't even aware it was open yet to begin with.

Ah, see that's what I thought. Good, then I'll have time to finish exams and make some money to see the show. :)

re: SAVE JERSEY BOYS IN TORONTO

The tour cast ("Sherry" company) is the one going to Toronto. Any TO sit-downs would be after this engagement.

But the Sherry company is booked into other cities, is it not?

re: SAVE JERSEY BOYS IN TORONTO

Where would it go?

Canon-Booked with tours
Panasonic-WWRY
Princess of Wales-Sound of Music
Elgin-They have tours until 2009
Winter Garden-No idea, but they are kinda small, right?

Where else would they have it?

Also, be glad that this is playing until October. This is a LONG run.

and why is this on the Broadway board, not Toronto?

Yes, it is.

That's why I said if there was a TO sit-down, it'd be after this engagement. They'd have to create a new...well, everything (which makes it much less likely).

I was responding to the person who asked if there will be a sit-down. I know it's at ToCentre.

The link is expired now, but there was an interview with Jeremy Kushnier with What's On Winnipeg where he said not to rule out his performing the role in Toronto.
