jetts7, Do you have Spotify or a Windows 8 machine with Xbox Music? It may be available to listen through for free on those services.

I've just listen to it on my phone through Google Play Music All-Access, and the only song that's made any impression on me is the first one, "Stand Up!"

This is really unfair with only one listen-through, but it's like worst elements of Vita and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat with worse rhymes. :-/

Carolee Carmello's performance was the only reason to see the show. She went from 16 to 50 over the course of the production. The cast album can never do her performance but it sure as hell tries. I forgot how many power ballads Gifford gave Carmello which is enough of a reason for a download.

On a side note I fell Gifford got Taymor syndrome and got way to close to the piece and it clearly show on stage when there was no need for most of the first act. Gifford just got to close to the subject and wanted to include every minute detail she could about Amy's life. It worked if Amy was on trial and we kept seeing vignettes of important moments in her life, but Gifford eventually dropped that angle but forgot to drop all the remnants of the trial from the show. She needed a script doctor but was too in love with Semple to use one.

Carolee performs "I Have a Fire" with as much conviction as when Alice Ripley performs "You Don't Know", Christine Ebersole performs "Another Winter in a Summer Town", and Tonya Pinkins performs "Lot's Wife", but the writing just isn't there to support her talents.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.
