The cast of the San Francisco production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was announced today on Playbill.com
After the SF production, the show is planned to sitdown (perhaps recast?) in Chicago.

Yes, the Chicago sit-down production is being cast with all Chicago area actors. They save a ton of money thay way, since they don't have to pay per diem (living expenses).
Also, the Chicago production is in a theatre that only seats 700, and is on a special contract. The actors will earn about $700 a week - about half what a National Touring company pays, but way more than most of the other Equity theatres in town.
Congrats to Sara Inbar! Inspired casting.

It's not the same production. It will be an entirely new production.

Jared is a good friend of mine. I did a show with him last year. He will be wonderful as Barfee!!!! I wish for once I didn't live on the east coast.

it's so cool because i saw aaron play boq when i saw wicked in san francisco. i am definately going to see it here. finally, a sit-down production in sf!
