There is a huge benefit in Chicago on February 9th. It will be an evening of Marc Shaiman's music and comedy with Marc at the piano featuring the entire National Touring cast of Hairspray. Shaiman's long time partner Scott Wittman will also participate. The night will be hosted by Bruce Vilanch.

That's the truth, Matt. If the entire company of Hairspray shows up they might be able to squeeze a coulple more people in. I'll try to make it and report back.

Speaking of the size of Gentry...........yes it's an intimate place. However, the cast will not be taking up the seats in the cabaret room. Those seats are being sold. The night is more than likely going to be videotaped with a 3 camera shot and pro sound. In addition to the videotaping, there will be a video feed of the show in all the rooms/bars within the club for those who couldn't buy a seat in the cabaret room.

The press release mantions nothing about buying seats. "No cover/2 drink minimum", if this is not right let us know if we can buy tickets to the seats in advance, that would greatly improve my chances of going.

You are absolutely correct about that. That information will be on the next set of advertising/posters. However, seats are available to purchase. Currently, the best way to do it is call the club and speak to Eric McCool, the General Manager. He can be reached at 312-836-0933. There is NO COVER/DRINK MINIMUM.
