Despite some clever lyrics, it's musically average-to-mediocre. Editing would have improved it, as frequently what would have been be an amusing three minute song becomes interminable at eight minutes (or longer). And the cast tries very hard, but in the end, you know exactly why the show bombed.
The pluses: Exceptionally lush production and beautiful orchestrations.

Great cast indeed Master, but I'm with you regarding some editing.
An "OK" score, with a truly lush presentation.

Posted: 4/1/04 at 7:31pmI thought it was great . I hear Lipton is pushing to have it restaged. I would pay to see it.

Posted: 4/2/04 at 8:39amIs Bernadette Peters playing the role of Banjo, the mute? Or am I dreaming this?
