Ok, so I know that there's probably already a hundred Shrek theads, but I can't find any and I have some questions. I would love any help!
If you already saw Shrek in NYC, can you tell me if:
1. Row C Seats 6-10 on the Left are good seats?
2. Has Sutton Foster, Jen Cody and Marissa O'Donnell been stage dooring?
3. Has any one met Sutton before the show yet? Do we know roughly what time she gets at the theatre?
Thank you for any help.

1. I'm assuming you're talking orchestra? They are very close and to the side. I'd try to go further back if possible.
2. Sutton came out the door the first night, signed a few on the smaller end and took off ~ after she'd signaled to the other side she would be there in a minute. Granted that was the first night and there were no barricades yet (only the garbage bin from load-in). Jennifer Cody definitely stage doored the first night.. Marissa...I don't know which one she was so I can't say.
3. Not a clue. Sorry!

Yea, in the orch. I've had these tickets since July, and we are going in just 10 days now. I'm very excited, but getting nervous about the ticket locations now.
Marissa was Teen Fiona. She would be the only teenager in the cast.
I really hope I can catch Sutton, I'm making a scrapbook for her for opening night, since I'm seeing her just like a week shy of opening night. But I'm seeing the show on the 25th, which is the last show before they stop for Thanksgiving, so if I don't get to catch her before the show, which there is a good chance I might not because we are taking the bus down that day, then I think I'm screwed. haha. Oh well, I'm just hoping I'll get lucky.
Thanks.

They're not horrible...but I'd ask about a booster seat. :) I was in the row in front (lottery seats) last Saturday night and while I didn't mind because it was really cool (and finally experienced a something falling into the audience blooper), but they're really close and I did have to kind of lean up and almost stand a couple of times.
Oh, ok. She may have...it was extremely chaotic last week, so I know I missed a lot of people. (And I didn't have my playbill handy to look her up just now.) I did see barricades in place last night as I was leaving Studio 54, so that will hopefully help control it a bit.
Enjoy!! :)

Posted: 11/15/08 at 5:19pmdancing... I did it (and won) last Saturday ~ there were probably 70-80 people there. Word from at least early in the week was that there were far fewer people there ~ I heard on Tuesday there were about 4 slips left in the spinner. I'm taking Tuesday off this week, so I may give it a shot again.

Posted: 11/15/08 at 5:27pmDo you miss a lot sitting up close? Are the sides any better then the center? Do you think this is something that will be fixed some way? I just don't want to end up missing half the show.

Posted: 11/15/08 at 5:45pmI can't really add anything to the seating questions (other than don't sit in the mezzanine), but Sutton Foster came out last night and signed for everyone, and was pretty awesome. Jen Cody came out and hung around talking to an acquaintance by the stage door, and signed for those who approached her, but didn't go along the barricade from what I could see (which was the case with much of the ensemble/fairy tale characters). The young Fionna's came out but were with family, so I don't believe they signed, but they may have. Have a good time at the show :)

Center will always be the best seating...but why get all worried about something you probably cannot change. (Not that I know how tix sales are going.) Just go and enjoy. If you miss some it will probably not be too much.
As for stage dooring BEFORE the show...that's really considered rude. She'll be on her way to work and is suppose to check in by a certain time. She probably gets there with only the amount of time she NEEDS to get ready: physically and emotionally.

I don't think you miss that much ~ though I can't say beyond seat 6 ~ but you do need to stretch up to see some things. Short of them closing the performance for a theater renovation to lower the stage, I don't think it's something that can be "fixed". (As opposed to Spamalot where it is the set obstructing the view in a lot of those cases.) It is not that the set is in the way. It is that the stage is high and the seats are close to it.
Guymy13 ~ Why not the mezz? And the whole mezz or a particular part?

I just remembered my other question ...
Can anyone tell me where the stage door is located exactly? Thanks.

Posted: 11/15/08 at 7:20pmIf you go out the front (well...back? Where you enter the theater ~ that was the only option the other night) you'll be on Broadway. Go up to the corner and turn left onto 53rd St. It's down that block about a third of the way. There are barricades now.
