I'm with you Em, but any chance to see Sieber on stage I'll take!

I hope something takes the Broadway in the interim. It would be a shame for it to be empty for so long.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Broadway-The Theme Park
Sad.
Sad.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Theatres in London are rarely left dark between productions.

I guess we all just need to accept that they will make a musical out of anything and EVERYTHING! I hate it too.

I'll say it for the hell of it because I'm silly that way, but FOLLIES should totally do a limited engagement at the Broadway between productions. If WONDERFUL TOWN took 2 years or so to make the transfer, why not FOLLIES? Can't a boy dream?
I'm looking forward to the show just because of Tesori, and let's be real, Sutton Foster is perfect for Fiona.

May I just say the right here and right now, I SINCERELY hope they actually go like all out with with costume/make up of Shrek. I'm sick of this modern mentality that "ohhh, lets not make everyone look like a gorilla in tarzan, they can just be people, and the audiences imagination will be enough to carry the show." THAT'S SHAMEFUL DISNEY THEATRICALS! Considering that your first adventure onto Broadway had a title character that took like 4 hours to get into costume (initially).
But I'm not just cracking down on Disney. This goes for ALL companies.
It's about time I sit down in a theatre and don't sit there thinking "There are seriously shmucks shelling out $115.00 for this theme park show?"
And as long as we're updating our posts for casting purposes...
Shrek-Steve Blanchard
Donkey-Stanley Wayne Mathis

I love Abaire and Tesori. I am excited about this show.
Although, I wish it was Millie instead.
GIMMEE GIMMEE.
I want it.
I like the idea of Bruce Vilanch as Shrek.
Donkey: Marc Kudisch!

Ooh, anything to get Marc Kudisch back on stage!

I don't know that Kudisch has quite enough soul (or the proper vocal range, for that matter) to play Donkey.
I love him, he's one of my faves, but he'd be better as Shrek.
But, alas, he's doing 9 to 5 in L.A. and then transferring to Broadway, so we'll have him on the 'way in 08-09.

I wonder if, like in the movie, Sutton will have to bury herself under a pound of green makeup and/or prosthetics towards the end.

I'm pretty sure DONKEY will be an African American.
And when I think "comedy" Kudish is not on the list, as talented as he is.

Even though I detest this idea and Shrek in general, Kecia Lewis-Evans is an inspired choice. I love it!

Are you KIDDING, CPD?
Did you see his Tony nominated performance in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE?
He was HILARIOUS!
And what about his Tony nominated performance in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG?
Also hilarious.
