I would say Side Orchestra in the first 5 rows. Hope you enjoy the show!

Keith, man, you've been asking about SOUTH PACIFIC for MONTHS now! Get the freakin' tix before you can't find any anymore! Get on it while you still have a shot. SIDE ORCHESTRA is apparently MUCH BETTER than the LOGE seating.
I believe the Vivian Beaumont is actually one of those theatres where there are almost no bad seats, but if I'm wrong, then kindly correct me.
I saw the show from the center left loge Row A, and had an amazing view. You get to see the orchestra during the overture some more from the loge, and you don't miss any of the onstage action.
I was in loge row A all the way over on the left. Because it's a thrust stage, I could see everything perfectly. If only the sound system were better.
Keith, jsg is correct, there isn't a bad seat in the house. I would hesitate to sit center back. I was perhaps five rows down from there and I was extremely enthralled with the show.
For me, it's one of the best PRODUCTIONS I have ever experienced.
Enjoy the show

Thanks for the info Elphaba...I bought tickets for the first row in the loge today...row A seat 106 I think? I was hoping they'd be good seats (no backs turned towards me)...but then again I DID hear that there really ARE no bad seats in this theatre.
