I saw Jen go on one night for Lilli Cooper. And I have to say I wasn't impressed at all. Very weak. And I know she is young and all that, but why did they cast her? I think she is too young and has lack of experience in life and performance to swing several roles in a Broadway show. The same night Gerard was in for Jon Wright. And I felt the same way about him. He is very young, plays even younger, and not very strong. If the rest of the cast is in age from 18-23, why did they feel the need to cast a 15 and 17 year old? I just think they are too young for a show like this. And it shows in their performances. I think Krysta is fantastic tho!

Rodriguez was on again tonight as Ilsa. Her acting is far superior to Pritchard's, most notably during the dialogue woven within "Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind." BUT, the hair -- a bob -- is completely out of period and distracting when seen against the other girls in the cast.

I haven't seen Krysta on as Isle yet. But I really do think Lauren Pritchard is amazing. She is by far my favorite female vocalist in the show.

Okay, does anyone think that Lauren doesn't act when she sings? She has a wonderful voice, but every note sounds the same as though she's not really thinking about what she's singing.

I agree about Lauren. She is a little weak with the acting.

I remember the days when no one, No One missed a show in a hit show in the first 6 months.
These 'Kids" have to learn what a gift it is to have a part on Broadway and not miss shows.

ohhh man. why does this remind me of all the talk back when Laura Benanti was missing lots of shows for Wedding Singer?
first off, lauren is SUPPOSED to be out in some cases, because she's the dance team captain (or something like that) and sits out in the audience for some performances to make sure everything looks good
and as for the rest of them, I really dont blame them one bit. Especially like Remy- she's apparantly taking FOUR AP classes in what I'm guessing is regular highschool (as in not homeschool or anything) WHILE doing a broadway show! Speaking as someone who's taking TWO AP classes and stressing out, I really cant imagine how she does it. haha. Lilli also goes to regular school on top of doing the show. So yeah, if they need some breaks, that to me is totally understandable

^ thats why they should cast kids who are NOT in high shcool. SIMPLE! Lea, all 3 Johns, Brian, Skylar, Lauren, Gideon, Krysta and Robert are all perfect in age. All out of High School and ready for their careers!!!

Yeah, Remy is incredibly smart. I wouldn't doubt if she's taking 4 AP classes (which I am doing too ... it's hard!) I heard she's going to be starting Columbia in the fall.

Yes. She was the only person that missed a performance at the Atlantic. I know people have been saying Lauren's acting is weak but I think the only reason they cast her is because if her voice. oh yes, yes. Sorry, I should have clarified that a little bit- its a COMPLETELY different situation. It was just the first thing that popped into my mind haha. But yeah, Laura's case was much more.. she HAD to take the time off because of health issues. It was just it turned into such a heated debate and that comment reminded me of it
aaand to bring it back on topic- as someone who hasn't actually seen her live yet, i love lauren! Her voice is soooo incredibly wonderful and I just love how different it is. Its very soulful, so even if she's NOT so strong on the acting, her singing is still not lacking in anything because what she's missing in emotion (if anything), she makes up for in soul. Okay, I phrased that really wierdly. but yeah. love her. haha

Lauren was found on MySpace, which means they primarily casted her on her voice. She's a singer-songwriter more than a Broadway actress. It's a great voice for the character of Ilse, but I agree about the acting. I'd love to see Krysta or Phoebe go on.

Lauren is sick, according to Skylar at the stagedoor. I saw Jenn go on for Thea last night and thought she was REALLY good. She hit all her marks and had a great voice. She fit in perfectly with the cast. Krysta, on the other hand, was not so great. I saw her once before and thought she was ok, and her acting's great, but she just DOES NOT have the voice for Ilse. She was ok when she sang alone, but you could barely hear her when she sang with John. Also, Gideon went VERY off key in The Word of Your Body reprise. It was painful, but he got back on track. Overall I thought the show was really good last night though. It was my 3rd time seeing it, and I'm going again next month onstage. It's still my favorite show though. Random note, Jenn wore glasses in the show, but not at the stage door. Anyone know why? I think she may have had a different costume than Remy, but I'm not sure.

wow! i couldn't agree with you more. i found krysta's voice to be wonderful. crystal clear and smooth as silk. on top of that she was the best actress on the stage that evening. that's saying a lot!

No, I totally think she's a great actress, and she does have a really pretty voice. BUT, it is too quiet and it seemed really hard for her to rock out in Blue Wind when she was singing with Johnny in her head voice. It's my favorite part of the show and it was kind of brought down. I know she's incredibly talented, but this is not the right part for her, IMO. I really can't picture her as Wendla.

I agree with 2blocksfrombway- I think Krysta really stuck out to me ACTING wise, and that's saying a lot because its NOT a huge part. I really, really do love her voice and thought it was just amazing, but even moreso than that I was just impressed that she could take a relitavely small role and make me REALLY remember her from it.
**SPOILERS**
In the Dont Do Sadness/Blue Wind scene, she gets SO fierce and worked up durring the whole "one twitch, and its the end" part and when she says "it really gave me the goosebumps", it's REALLY chilling because she REALLY seems scared. And then the "lying on a trash heap" part was just... shes sooo good. Oh and I also noticed her above other people in Left Behind... something about the way she acted it was just spot on.

I think that Krysta would be an excellent Wendla. She looks the part more than Phoebe does. Her voice is gorgeous and her acting is much better. As for the situation with her not singing very loud, they should have just turned her mic up louder or something to compensate. But I don't think that is a very big deal because I could hear her perfectly.

I think if she were to play Wendla, she would definitley need a wig though. The long hair adds to the little, naive girl effect.

krysta is a wendla cover and she has a wig for it.
