I sat in AA4 this past weekend....and yes, I was a lil unnerved at first sitting that close to the actors ( John Groff mostly used AA2 and Remy Zaken used it also). Yes, some of the sound is off when they aren't projecting toward you, etc....but if you know the songs and story you'll be fine. The only stuff I really had trouble hearing was the dialogue of seduction scene btwn Hanschen and Ernst since they were facing away from me and off to the other side of the stage and the audience laughing didn't help. However, it was a complete blast sitting up there for all the big numbers and seeing them dance and sing around you and you get to hear some of the individual voices which was neat...esp when Groff was singing while sitting beside me.
If you have a chance to get a stage seat...go for it! If you search on here, you'll find other stage seat info like the lower the number the closer you are to the front of the stage.

I have seats AA 7-9. It sounds like AA7 isn't next to any cast member -- who usually sits in A11? And does anyone have any sense as to how much of the show I'll be looking at the backs of the actors? It seems like AA7-9 is kind of in the middle of the audience seating.

Everybody asks how much of the actors' backs they'll be seeing from the on-stage seats. That is a question that has no answer. Sometimes you'll see the side, sometimes more the back. I really dont' know how to answer that. If the question is Is it frustrating to watch, the answer is no.
I have sat in AA13 many times....the adult male and female (I think) sit in AA11 some, and Remy (the smallest girl..sorry, I get the girls mixed up..but never the boys LOL). It seems like the adult female sat next to me a lot more when Christine played it than Frances, but maybe it's me. But they are across some steps from AA9, so you wont' be RIGHT next to any cast but you'll be plenty close...you'll see...
OK. I just saw it on stage yesterday. It was so fun, but I would recomend seeing it from the audience's perpective at leat once. When you are not on stage, you can see the effects better and everthing just looks so perfect. But, onstage it is very cool to have everyone jumping around you. There were only two things that was distracting to me. For instance, there was a lady in the first row who was covering her ears, shaking her head, and folding her arms the whole time (and this was only during the Bitch of Living). I loved watching her face during Totall F*****. The other distracting thing was Groff's spitting. All the guys spat so much, but still not as much as Groff. I found it quite funny but it took away from the very serious moments... when he's spitting everywhere. Overall, I thought it was a good experience.
I felt apart of what they were all feeling. Seeing the cast act up close is a lot better. Lea Michele's face was so sad during "Whispering". It was so pretty. You could see the tears in her eyes with a spotlight shining down on her. I also thought the "Reformatory" scene was better on stage. I am glad I had this exerience.

Which cast members sit in AA11 and AA15?
I think it varies a little from scene to scene, but the adult woman sits in AA15, and the adult man sits in both AA11 and AA15. I think Remy sits in AA11 a lot... I could be a little off, but that's pretty much it...none of the leads sit in those seats. (I have sat in AA 13...and I think it is the only seat wher you are surrounded by the cast on both sides...
Skylar stomps on seat AA11 several times, so make sure all limbs are safely away from that area.

Why do you need to sit next to these people? Are you going to strike up a conversation during the performance? Do you just want a "better" view of the "action"? I would really love to know.....
Larry64, because how often is it that you get to sit onstage during a Broadway show. It's part of the experience.
