I've already listened to the whole medley WAY too many times- it just makes me so happy (partly because I love Darren and know how much of an idol Alan Menken is for him, but also just because the medley is awesome)
Darren and Lea both sound gorgeous, and they sound fantastic together as well! They have totally different vocal styles and yet somehow it meshes really well ^_^
"Cut to ten years from now when he's on the cover of PEOPLE under the header - YEP, I'M GAY."
Except with Darren it's legitimately not that kind of deal haha. We're talking about a kid who grew up in the San Fransisco theatre community, who never comes off as anything but completely and totally comfortable in his own skin. And HE really doesn't bring up the fact that he's straight that often at all- it's just the media that are always all "what's it like being a straight man playing gay?"
So yeah, he's not gay, and with Darren I 100% buy it :) Not that would be bad at all if he was, of course, but seriously.. watch enough of his interviews and you'll see.. there's pretty much no way he wouldn't be out at this point if he was actually gay.
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
The reason Criss is crying during Salonga's performance is mostly because of the place Disney played in his life and his career- before Glee, before "Very Potter," Darren was mainly known as that kid around campus/on YouTube who played freestyle-versions of Menken and Ashman Disney songs on acoustic guitar.
How is it known that Darren Criss was crying during Lea Salonga's concert when she sang "Reflection?" Is there some video/article or something?
As for him being gay, who knows? Maybe he's another Zachary Quinto. Maybe not. Maybe he's just an effeminate straight guy. All I know is I can't tell the difference between how Darren Criss sounds in an interview and how Blaine Anderson speaks on "Glee."
