re: STORY OF MY LIFE musical -- Broadway 2009

Fantastic news!

The production here in Toronto was beautiful little gem that held the opening night audience in rapturous silence.... until the end when thunderous applause shook the rafters at the Berkeley Street theatre. The authors always hoped for a New York run, and I hope the fact that it will be on Broadway (as opposed to off) won’t tempt the producers, designers and director to tart it up with a lot of unnecessary "effects." The heart of this one is the simple touching story of a friendship and how it evolves over many years.

At the very least we better get a recording of this one.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Great news. I saw this show at the NAMT last fall and I absolutely loved it. It's a really lovely little show.

Sounds a little like the Big Chill meets Stand by Me.

But, that said, I will definitely check it out. It sounds interesting and heartfelt.

I also saw this show at NAMT and was very impressed. The characters were memorable, and there were great musical moments. The plot could have used some work, but I hope that those issues get smoothed out before the Broadway run. Definitely worth seeing though.

I saw the original Toronto run, and it was good, but definitely ready for Broadway yet...From what I hear though they did a LOT of work for NAMT, so kudos to them. I wish it the best though. Its always nice to hear more Canadian voices on Broadway.
