Sounds absolutely divine! I can just imagine Anjelica as Norma, Sir Ben as Max...and Patrick as Joe (what a treat it will be to see him on stage again!)
Ken Howard...James Cromwell...Lauren Ambrose...Noah Wylie (such a cutie)...this will be quite a night! :o)
Time to break out the piggybank. :o) (And, Lauren, enjoy yourself! LOL!)

Thanks David2! How sweet of you! (geesh, I'm rhyming...)
My sister was "assigned" to order our tickets this past week (thanks through the generosity of her hubby's credit card). I'm waiting for her e-mail. If she failed in her quest...I'll be on the phone ASAP!
Are YOU going?

is this a concert of the musical or a reading of the movie??? thanks :)

Staged reading of the original play--not the musical.

WOW! I wish I could go! What a fantastic cast!

Just wondering (cuz some folks have asked me who are looking into going) is it correct to assume that there will NOT be "Stage Door" opportunities after this event?
The thinking is that these folks are too high profile for that to happen easily...

Wow. This cast does sound terrific.
But don't the powers-that-be realize that this show is TERRIBLE? I wish they could come up with a better choice for a fundraiser. Maybe they'd even raise more funds with a well-written musical.
I think this might win for "The Worst 'Best Musical' EVER!"
I can't think of a show I disliked more than this one.
As much as I'd love to see Anjelica Huston, Ben Kingsley and Lauren Ambrose, you couldn't pay me enough to sit through that monstrosity again. (Well, maybe you could, if a sizeable amount of cash was offered...)
its not the musical, it is a reading of the original screenplay, one of the most celebrated screenplays in history.
Oh!
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
I was horrified that they were re-doing that piece of musical garbage.
Now, a staged reading of the screenplay could certainly rake in the cash for a fundraiser...
Amen.

Hard to say, Beacon. The cast will be going to a party in the lobby with the benefit level donors - but they have to leave the building at some point!

David2, I loved your "they have to leave the building at some point." LOL...
(Begins shoving leaves and twigs into her camoflauge helmet and practices "loitering" undetected. hahaha!)

(Festooned in black and mourning heavily)
IT STINKS TO BE ME. I just got off the phone after frantically trying to salvage my dream trip to L.A. to see the Sunset Boulevard reading on Sunday (and hit a few of the sights.)
Standby plane tickets fell through (sob),
Travel companion couldn't make it because of family "concerns" (Translation: her hubby is too stubborn to part with wife for a weekend. Can't/won't handle kids alone)
Alternate plans to meet old roomate there just tanked (sobbing continues.) My begging skills must be shot.
I can't go.
(Right now, those are the ugliest words in the English language.)
Un-freakin'-believable! My vacation time was cleared...I bought an outfit...borrowed my friends digital camera in case I spotted any celebs...
Just had to share my horrible, awful, miserable, rotten, stinky luck with others that would understand my bitter disappointment.
I know I'll live...but I really, really, really wanted to see this production. The cast will be fabulous. David2's description of Lauren Ambrose's performance in last year's "All About Eve" really made me want to see her as Betty.
And, it was my chance to finally see Patrick Wilson live on stage
Forgive the theatrics...but this really, really stinks.
And, if you wanna go Ticket Master should have at least two seats on the mezzanine level available. Enjoy my view.
Off to drown her sorrows in Ovaltine (Mormon-style comfort...)

Beacon1 has regained her composure after her brief temper tantrum yesterday. She has put life back into perspective and trusts that other opportunities will arrive. (It's a wonder what a glass of Ovaltine and a plate of Oreos can do. LOL!)
I'll just start saving $$$ for another event and hope that Patrick's recent taste of live performing in San Antonio at "The Alamo Premiere" (Liz Smith wrote that "the crowd went wild" when he sang "God Bless America") and then this benefit on Sunday will re-awaken his interest in stage work--soon.
Good luck to the organizers who have worked so hard on this event...
And if anyone goes...please let us know how it went. I'll bet Anjelica Huston and Sir Ben Kingsley will be phenomenal!!!!!!!!! (I can see them in my mind's eye already!)

We'll miss you Beacon. Ticketmaster does have some great seats left - as does The Actors' Fund. Really sorry you won't make it - thanks for all your support. Will give you a full report!

Looks like the website (www.actorsfund.org) will have some photos after the bash on Sunday. I can oogle from afar, I guess.
