You can see it on Christmas Day.
Like most movies that come out on Christmas Day every year in a very limited release....it's usually LA, NYC and, maybe, San Fran.

From what I understand, it's limited release is just NY and LA.

It was going to be a limited release on Dec. 21 and wide Jan 18, but I read somewhere that it was recently changed to a wide release on Christmas day. Am I all alone in hearing that?
You're not alone. It was discussed here last week. Wide release, Christmas day.
The film opens wide on Christmas Day.

SWEENEY TODD strikes me as an odd choice for Christmas viewing.
Don't like the idea of human pies for Christmas? :-p
Nothing says "Merry Christmas!" like murder, canabalism, and rape. Oh, the holidays.
Shaving Santa Claus this Christmas.
I'll look at the mince meat pies in a whole new light this year.

Try the priest, this Christmas!
They mentioned about Sweeney opening wide on Christmas in the same article that had the first photo from the movie with Depp and Carter.
Maybe we will get a Midnight Screening on Christmas Eve? How could they skip SF in it's short release?
I never liked mince meat pies, so Sweeney won't ruin the Holidays for us. We'll have our Christmas Feast and then walk down to the Movie Theatre for some Sweeney Todd.
