SYLVIA Seating Suggestions?

Hi everyone!

I am looking for some advice from anyone who has seen Sylvia. If given the choice between rear orchestra (last three rows), rear mezzanine, or front balcony, which do you think would be best for this show? I am looking into tickets on behalf of a friend who is a huge Annaleigh Ashford fan, so I’m looking for the seating that provides the best view of her performance in particular. I’ve read she spends a great deal of time on the floor. (She is playing a dog after all&hellip Does the rear orchestra provide a good perspective for seeing those scenes, or would the view from higher up be preferred?

Also, if you saw the show through TDF where were your seats? The TDF listing says seats will most likely by rear mezzanine or front balcony. Was this accurate, or did you get lucky and end up with better seats?

I know this doesn't really help, but I sat orchestra left row H and the view was excellent. The rear orchestra usually has a very steep overhang at this theatre, so I'd go with rear mezzanine. It's not that far back or high up. But I'm sure you could even get some closer mezz or orch seats at a good discount either way.

Unfortunately from every seat you can see the same non performance by Matthew Broderick. Hopefully the lousy attendance record that Sylvia has had shows that he can no longer attract an audience and they can stop hiring this non talent.

I sat in rear mezz and the seats were fine. This was when it first opened. I saw it again a few weeks later with TDF and got 3rd row orchestra. I actually thought the rear mezz was a better view.

Despite certain criticism, he is actually really good in this show, it's a great role for him. The entire cast is fabulous.

This is actually Matthew Broderick's best performance in a little while. Also, even if you're not a fan of him, I found all 4 members of the cast to be very good. They all bring something different to the table.
I sat in the last row orchestra and I thought it was fine. There is an overhang but all of the action is pretty much downstage center so you don't miss much. Just depends if you're a mezzanine fan or not.
