Unconfirmed by news sources, but a poster on ATC is reporting that Kitty Hart died in her sleep last night.
Rest in peace.
Wow.
I'm very sad to hear that, if it's true. I spoke to her on the phone once when I was interning in a press office and she was lovely and cordial. A great lady.
Rest in peace. Thanks for everything.
Oh. Just oh. A very elegant woman.

I hate to hear this. An amazing woman, amazing talent, and amazing devotion to her husband.

Awwwwwwwww..... SO sad.
She was the epitome of style and class.
She was such a huge part of the Broadway community.
A first-nighter from practically the first night.
I hope they dim the lights for her tonight, if this is indeed confirmed.
She was a lovely lady - and really one of the last of a bygone era. Happily she stayed active and lucid right til the end. Hers was a VERY full life. God Bless her.
Oh NO! God bless her. RIP.

MB - that was exactly my thought - truly a signifier of the passing of an era. Her ties and experiences were really singular.
Brava on a life well-lived, and may the curtain call last forever.

I remember as a kid watching her on To Tell The Truth. I used to ask my mother why she didn't dress like Kitty Carlisle!!
Ciao Kitty...rest in peace...right about now St. Peter is saying "Hello, Kitty".

I saw her at Sardi's a couple of years ago -- looking elegant in a fur coat and heeled boots in the middle of a February snowstorm. I was more excited to see her than someone my age probably should have been, but she made my night of theatre-going complete.

Outwardly, she was quite classy, a fairly nice woman, but by no means a saint.
I remember helping her one night, this was recently, mind you, and she gave me a litany of things that are wrong with minorities in this country.
I was shocked, to say the least.
But she was a nice person to me, and to her 30 year old arm candy that night.
She lived a rich and full life. What a lady. What a trouper. I saw her in On Your Toes and loved her. She certainly was is a class by herself. No one else like her. She will be greatly missed. RIP.

I last saw her in person at the discussion following the Encores! production of PARDON MY ENGLISH. Her stories of dating George Gershwin and attending opening nights with him were wonderful.
RIP Kitty
