So I did find an older thread about this same topic that was very interesting, but considering its from a long time ago I thought I would start a fresh one to see if anyone has any anecdotes about Fields stint in The Goat. Its one of those performances I wish I could go back in time and see and the reviews make it sound like a tour de force performance.

Sally Field was wonderful and had great chemistry with Irwin. I do wish I saw the original cast as well. However, seeing Fields on stage at that time was a great treat. Glad she has returned to theater since.

I'll never forget her petite frame dragging the bag with Sylvia, splattered in blood. Frazzled, determined, and crazed.

I remember her being very good as well. Often times film actors are not very strong on stage but she was an exception.I too would have liked to have seen the original cast. I am sure Mercedes rocked.
