Sam Harris in Joseph/Dreamcoat

i know he did the production a few years ago, but was a recording ever made? i mean, donny osmand was good and he got a cd AND a movie. but sam freakin harris! why isn't he on a cd of joseph? he was INSANE on some of those songs! esp. who's the thief...don't get me started. but back to my question: if there is anyone with info on where to get the cd, i'd greatly appreciate it! :)

Sam never recorded Joseph, although we keep begging him to record "Close Every Door" on a CD in the future. He's asked that all the time.

I've seen a few people play the role (and I've seen the Osmond video), and NO ONE compares to Sam as far as vocal power and intensity in my opinion.

I don't think this was mentioned, but Sam did the National Tour after it the Michael Damien version closed on Broadway.
I got tickets to see it in Syracuse but he had left the show by then and Brian Lane Green had taken over. He was also amazing, but the souvenir book I have is chock full of Sam pictures!!
Most nice is the Close Every Door shot with him only in a loincloth!!
Either way, no recording is out there (officially)...

WTriple Threat, I SAW Sam Harris in Joseph at the Pantages in 1995 and I have the color program with photos and such, I can show you! And as far as I know, there wasn't a recording, but he really didn't do anything vocally special with the songs like "Magic Changes" and such.

But did you know that Sam did Hair in Los Angeles two years ago and braved the nude scenes, and was also Jesus in JCS!

Like someone said, there wasn't an "official" recording ever made....but private message me if you are interested in *additional* infomation on Joseph recorings with Sam.

I just attended a really neat "Joseph" last night at the Lenape PAC, Marlton, NJ. JCS's, Danny Zolli played "Joseph" and was awesome! (shamless plug).This production was "fashioned" after the Sam Harris version. Also, Rene Chambers, whom I also work with, was in this ensamble. Renee toured with Sam quite a while in Europe and raved about him both professionally and personally!

I'm anxiously awaiting the reviews from the papers tomorrow. This show runs through Aug. 16th www.sjtheater.com, if anyone is in the Philly/S.Jersey area.
