horribly off topic, i know ... but it's not like this issue doesnt get a lot of air-time on BWW, and it seemed worth passing along ...

There's a thread going on the Off Topic Board.
Heartbreaking.
Very heartbreaking. I'm disappointed in New York.
Gaa, so sad/angry/heartbroken. I had so much hope for my state....
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
I'm not sure if everyone is surprised/shocked or just dissapointed. You have no reason to be surprised. California, a state much more Liberal than New York, voted against it. Even the state of Maine turned it down.
This should not be a surprise to anyone. Don't hold your breath. (and yes, I support Same Sex Marriage) - but the political world is much different than our social & cultural word.
Apparently there's a rally at 6PM tonight in Times Square.
Let us know how it is if anyone goes! I am sad and disappointed in New York. I was very hopeful New York would be the next state to pass it.
I will be at the rally at 6pm. I'm looking forward to it!
