I wouldn't be too upset about missing Tim Curry. He's only exciting to see because he's Tim Curry. His performance is fine, but it's nothing spectacular. I'm sure his replacement will be just as good, if not better.

Ruprecht--There is a thread this morning on ATC not about whom should take over, but the fact someone has been offered the role.

It all goes back to the reasons for wanting to see the show in the first place. If it is first and foremost for the show itself, that's one thing. But there are those who want to see shows for a particular performer - and telling people they shouldn't be disappointed about missing that performer is rather beside the point (and I mean this as a general comment, not just in this case). I'm not saying the show will necessarily suffer for Tim's absence - I'm sure Simon Russell Beale will do an excellent job - but for a fan of Tim's, it just isn't the same (I also think people tend to sell Tim's performance short in this show, but that's neither here nor there
).

I must be blind, but I'm not seeing it.

I find ATC impossible to read, the format gives me a horrible headache.
I agree that if people are going to see a particular performer, we all must expect them to be disappointed if that person is not in, although I hope they give the show a chance anyway.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

The thread I see under the Christiane Noll thread is "Why Isn't Jersey Boys up at TKTS?"
Still don't see it!

In the thread on Christine Noll.
Although I still didn't see any names or interesting info. Except a snarly and irritating moderator from that site.

I tried to find it too and it is really hard to follow. Seems like you are on a thread and then you go to a new one without finishing all the comments. It's not set up very well that is for sure. I know people keep saying Orfeh would be great but I would assume she's contracted with Trailer Park for awhile. The new Lady would have to start rehearsals fairly soon. I wonder if they will go with a big Broadway name or a big showbiz name. I hope they go for the former as I can't think of a showbiz personality who could pull it off.
Ok I found it. All it really says is that the person is caucasian.

Ah, thanks, smartpenguin - I was viewing in flat mode, so I just saw the headers, not the list of individual messages within the thread. I guess I'm not a total idiot...just a partial one.

I was just interested to hear they had offered the part to someone--did not mean to imply a name had been mentioned. We should learn that soon enough.

I think when I read about the auditions, the rehearsals were starting end of October/beginning of November. Of course, I have a memory like a sieve!

Ladyofthe Lake, I know Tim Curry is a big draw for people, he was for me. I was just trying to raise the spirits of QMAN03. :)

I hope her ankle is better when you go - she is out a lot with it.
