"If the dress won't stay up DON'T WEAR IT!!!"
Perhaps the dress fit and she was working it for attention.

Personally I don't see why everyone's making such a huge deal out of that damn dress. She pulled it up because she didn't want the 2,000 people that actually watch the Tony's to see her naughties. Sheesh!
I wouldn't have objected

Because hiking your dress up (twice I might add) on national tv is low class.
I don't want to see her naughties, but would love to see Chris Seiber or Hank Azaria's naughties.

Oh, and I suppose your an expert on public etiquette? Woman pull their strapless dresses up all the time. You see it on every award show. If you find it crass, you should probably be reading.

She was taste-free! And undeserving of the award, in my opinion

That doesn't make it right. Do you see men "adjusting" themselves on the way to the podium?

How is she tasteless?

She adjusted her dress so her breasts would not accidently expose themselves. I guess now she's a no good trollop?
And if you want to talk about tasteless, let's discuss some of the big winners from last evening pulling out a sheet of paper and reading from it. Acceptance speeches are supposed to be spur of the moment and heart-felt; not written out ahead of time on a krispy kreme wrapper.
I like her, I thought her performance in Spamalot was wonderful, but I agree that the dress wasn't right for her. If it doesn't fit correctly, don't wear it (when you have to keep yanking it up, it's a sign that it doesn't fit correctly).
If you have to ajust your dress, it doesn't fit.
It was too tight on the top and as beautiful as she looked she should have had the dress tailored (or tailored BETTER) or she should have had straps...jmo

Sara took a page from the Janet Jackson school of fashion. Hiking her dress up was a "costume malfunction" designed to gain attention.
I have to admit, I also wasn't fond of her hacking into the microphone then starting her speech. It was kind of unpleasant. An "excuse me" would have been nice.
I didn't see any of the other women in strapless dresses messing with their apparel last night.
I'm just saying...
But saying "excuse me" would've cut into the 20 seconds she is permitted to speak.

Unfortunately when it comes to Fashion and Award Shows, especially for women, comfort takes a back seat to design. Sara and most of the other nominees last night looked absolutely stunning in their dresses, but most gowns are fitted to the body and need a little "adjusting" througout the evening. If you want to tear apart fashion, have at it, but don't call someone tasteless for not putting on a "front" or being "fake" just for cameras sake.
You know, it was her moment and she did it how she felt comfortable. So what if the dress wasn't the right size, or if she hacked into the mic, get over it, I am sure that last thing she was thinking about after wining a Tony, was, oh I should excuse myself.
Congrats to Sara, she deserves it.

I personally LOVED her dress and I dont really care about the fact that she pulld it up. I think CBS has had enough "exposure"(shall we say) for a while(i.e. Janet Jackson...SUPER BOWL).
Off the topic of her dress... I thought her performence was AWSOME! I could NOT tell she was sick while she was singing! She was very funny to!
"But saying "excuse me" would've cut into the 20 seconds she is permitted to speak."
And with the hoisting up of her dress, she'd only have about 10.
She looked and sounded amazing. Calling her tasteless for taking the precaution of hoisting her dress (and doing so in an amusing way)is unnecessary.
