When I saw Sasha Allen do "I Will Always Love You" on The Voice - I couldn't help but think of her doing The Bodyguard. Thoughts?

Off topic, don't really know about The Bodyguard, but I really want to see her as Elphaba. I'm still waiting for a lead black Elphaba...

I think she got eliminated last night and they should have kept her! I like her, but it does amaze me how theater pros like Sasha and recently, Carly Rose Sonenclar, are presented on these shows as if they were beginners or amazing new discoveries.

I'd rather see her than Headley, personally.

I adored Sasha in "Hair".

agreed April, It took weeks before they even revealed she was in Hair. Let alone has had two major record deals, albeit failed ones.

if Headley doesn't want to transfer with The Bodyguard, I think Allen is an ideal replacement. If not, I'd be happy with Allen as the alternate, too.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

"if Headley doesn't want to transfer with The Bodyguard"

I think Heather Headley is making room in her bag right now for that Tony.

"I think Heather Headley is making room in her bag right now for that Tony. "

Her attendance record better go up over here. She's garnered a terrible reputation for missing. (I don't mean when her alternate goes on, but when she's supposed to.)

I really have no intention of seeing Headley in the role. She is not one of my favorite actresses or singers by any means. I was just stating that if the show transfers I am sure she will be gung-ho for transferring with it.

Yeah I believe that Heather got it in her contract when she signed up to the show that she would open it on broadway as well! And I have to say I personally think she is phenomenal in the role and I love her voice, but I guess that is down to personal preference! I also like Sasha and agree she would be a great alternate! (and with Heathers record she would be on more than enough)

I'd be very interested in seeing her as the Leading Player in Pippin once Patina departs, or at least on the tour. Her and Hunter Parrish playing Pippin would be amazing!

^^^
If that were to happen it would be the second time she has replaced Patina in a high profile production.

OK. I am interested.

That said, I kind of would rather see her than Headley in The Bodyguard.
