I guess mostly in part of the fact that my dad works in the line of work that they talk about in Distracted and I have lived through it so I guess I want to see it because it is a topic that hits home for me.

Posted: 3/14/09 at 9:04pmI have to STRONGLY disagree. I thought "Distracted" was one of the better plays I've seen on stage in the past few seasons. It's not a tragedy at all, it's a social commentary on how we treat and deal with ADD and the effects it has on both parents and the child. And while being extremely funny in parts it's also very moving and an honest look at a very real , topical subject. I urge anyone who hasn't seen it yet and is able to, to go before it closes and see Cynthia Nixon at her best.

Posted: 3/14/09 at 10:59pmHey Winston, my daughter and I were both bored by Distracted...and with an ADD son, the material was close to me. However, I have to say that I think knowing a lot about it made the play even more disappointing! It was really same-old, same-old and the ending, in which they pretty much conclude that attention deficit kids don't need meds, just love and attention, was pretty ridiculous.

Posted: 3/15/09 at 2:45amHonest and moving? When? Did we see the same play? I felt like the director/writer thought they were so genius with using all these different ways to 'distract' us, but it got to the point of "we get it already! just give me some f-ing drama already!" I hated "Distracted." Nixon was fine, but never got a chance to do some real acting. She was just Miranda without the sex talk.
