Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about Saved!, the new musical that Playwrights Horizons is doing in May with Celia Keenan-Bolger. I'm super-interested in this show, and I was wondering if anyone had heard if anyone else has been cast, or if anyone has heard some samples from the score?

I'm also interested - I haven't heard much about it in a while.

On a side note, I'm really excited for this. I LOVE the movie and feel like it'd make a great musical.

why not put Bare on broadway, it's a lot like Saved! with a little extra drama.

We don't need ANOTHER 'angsty' show on Broadawy right now. SPRING AWAKENING holds the title, and deservedly so. I wouldn't be able to take Bare walking teh boards ... not yet anyway. It's a good show, but seriously, I don't see it working.

Bare deserves a Broadway run. But it would compete with SA too much....maybe in a few years, or an off bway run.

If Bare was to have a big mainstream run, it should've been with the mindblowing original cast from the ATA, Michael Arden, John Hill, Jenna Leigh Green, Natalie Joy Johnson, etc...

As for Saved, with Rinne Groff and John Dempsey on the project, I have full faith. They have both done some outstanding work. And yeah for Celia Keenan- Bolger who deserves to lead a great new show!

Lakezurich, I'm well aware, I'm well aware.

I was first informed of this production LONG before CKB was cast. Looking forward to possibly seeing this down the road.

My comment was reference to Bare was replying to crzyray.

bare is way better than spring awakening and has been around longer then spring awakening, it deserves to be on broadway more, it's an original amazing story, though it does remind me of saved. Spring awakening is amazing but it is not better then bare in any means

The two really can't be compared, they're completely different shows with completely different plots, characters and music, and completely different messages, and both have their ups and downs. However, having both on Broadway (two stories concerning teens dealing with angsty situations) at the same time would be horrid. I would love to see Bare return to Off-Broadway, though...

I heard from a reliable friend that the reading was great, and from what I heard of the cast, it's phenomenal. I'm super excited.

ok so all this talk about Bare is great, but this is a thread about Saved! Lets do try and stay on topic.

As for me, im excited. I loved the movie. I'm slightly nervous though, simply because sometimes these adaptations go awry.

I feel like this is the type of movie where it has to be a hilarious musical. It's not like wedding singer or legally blonde or anything else.
