We walked out with armloads of merch and had a blast.
You say yourself that you had no interest in seeing it. There are others who feel the same myself included. I live in Massachusetts but come down to the city about one weekend every 6 weeks or so - this has never made the cut for me as I'm just not interested at all.

The OP should look at the silver lining: They got to see it at all and have this wonderful experience with their daughter. Because it’s a marvel the show is still open. If this were 2006 or 2008 or even 2012, this woulda posted notice the day of the Tony nominations, if not sooner.
Can we save dead outlaw while we're at it??
I've seen bootlegs of both of these shows, and i think they both deserve a place in the theatre scene. Unfortunately, It was gonna be hard to sell the idea of Betty Boop on Broadway, The character has been out of the spotlight for a while, and while there is an audience I think this would make a much better touring show.
A traveling production would sell well, with more people having access to the show and having a chance for people to get actually interested with the show.
DEAD OUTLAW ON THE OTHER HAND SHOULD RUN FOREVER. THAT IS A WORK OF ART AND I'M PISSED THE PEOPLE DIDN'T SEE IT.
in other news, jeb brown should play hermes and i will be pissed at god if it does not happen.

Are you implying that when it comes to Broadway that doesn't give people a chance to get interested in the show? Shows that don't come to Broadway as a limited run are usually open-ended. That gives people plenty of time to get interested. They are just distracted by glitzy star-led productions and don't get interested in the other shows until it's too late. There's always time.

…because that’s what happens. A show doesn’t find its footing in a small amount of time and it untimely closes because it hasn’t founds its audience and made its money in an ungodly short time.
you say there’s always time, and it’s never enough time.
If we're concerned for the show's legacy and not the producers' pocketbooks, there are "four quarters" to a show's success in the long run: a major New York or London production, a cast recording, a national tour or major regional production post-launch, and licensing availability at one of the major houses. Boop has already secured the first two quarters, and the last two seem inevitable (since I can't imagine Foster and company wanting this show to go away a la "Lestat" or "Disney On the Record").

Let the cast move onto better jobs and free that theatre up for something good."

Just in Time wasn't nominated for Musical or Score either, but performed. Not sure it would've moved the needle all that much, but i just find it strange.........
