all i know is Eden is definitley leaving in October, it was announced when she came into the show
but i dont know about Ana yet- that would be cool, though!

I'm not 100% sure but,I think Ana had gotten offers but, didn't choose to do it. I think Kate has Ana's blessing about doing it on Broadway.

Posted: 8/22/06 at 1:21amWell I personally would not be happy with Ana replacing Eden, I think that would be a step back for what they want on Broadway. And that's somebody that is going to sing the role, and saying that I don't think she is replacing her. I have heard who it is but I would be dropping the big ball if I said. I can say that Saycon is suppose to be leaving and that Brandi will not become the stand-by. She may be leaving the show as well for another one, a new one that I can't confirm. Saycon is suppose to be going back to Atlanta to work on her album. But you know how this business is, but guessing is always fun. Especially when everything really happens.

Posted: 8/22/06 at 2:23amOk, now I saw Diana DeGarmo mentioned in this thread as a possible Elphaba (a wish, not anything rumored). My question is if that was under consideration, would Hairspray allow her out of her contract to play Penny in order to do Wicked? It seems unlikely given that Hairspray benefited so much from her presence last spring. So in general, do shows allow performers out of their contract if they get a better offer?

Ok I don't know where the thing about Kate and Ana came from. But iw as simply saying Kate is horrible in the show. It is like watching Dainty June play Glinda like Dainty June. Her Glinda is trite and horrid. Also she can barely sing No one Mourns The Wicked.
Ana has been the only person to excite me as an Elphaba. She makes Elphie new fresh and a pleasure. We can only hope that Ms. Gasteyer will grace us with her presence.
