Scarlet Pimpernel Synopsis- Please help!

I was just curious if someone would be willing to give me a synopsis- like a paragraph or so- of "The Scarlet Pimpernel." I've read it before in the vocal book but I had borrowed it from a professor and I'm trying to figure some of the action out from the music and it's not helping terribly. I appreciate it!
