According to the article, the new Bert will be Australian actor Adam Fiorentino.

I am sure these people are very talented, professional and personable. Their work will be quite laudable.

Who the hell are they?

The grosses for Mary Poppins (and other shows that naturally attract a so-called 'family' audience - Legally Blonde, anyone?) have tanked now that school is back in session. Aren't there some even moderately large 'guns' who could be put into the show that will sell some tickets?

Scarlet Strallen is the Mary Poppins I saw in London and she was excellent. As someone noted, she's an exceptional dancer and they added some extra dancing to the role for her in London - I'm guessing they'll do that here as well.

Very true!
Scarlett is a superb dancer! And she is pretty good as an actress!I loved the way when she takes stairs to the nursery. It is so funny! If you got to see her at the stage door after the show, you realised she is an unbelievably sweet lady.

Would you prefer another two years of Ashley Brown's wretched English accent?

Why exactly would that make you angry? Equity has rules about things like this, so generally that means an American has a job in London because of it. Have you been angry that Gavin Lee has not only been over here for over two years but is also doing the tour?

Do you think that the english are up in arms over the entirely American cast of August: Osage County about to open??

I'm very excited for this and I'm gonna have to try to plan a return trip to the New Amsterdam. Although, I'm annoyed that Ashley's last is right in the middle of the week.

A few very talented American actresses have been strung along in the audition process for Ashley Browns' replacement. Would like to see one of them have the opportunity.

And I'm sure they would be capable of a British accent.

No it's not. Did you bother reading the article? Ashley and Gavin's final performance is Sunday, October 5. Understudies will cover the shows until Strallen and Fiorentino take over.

Remember everyone... Gavin Creel was set to be in Godspell at this very moment, so that canceled out any option for him to be in the show. It is likely that Fiorentino was set to play the role before the Godspell cancellation.

I am very excited about Strallen coming over here! And don't be mad about her being from the UK....as said, an American is now working out in their jurisdiction. And no, August: Osage County and Mary Poppins are not on the same "level", but union rules are still in effect for both.

Gavin Creel and Scarlett Strallen had great chemistry in London when I saw last year. I was also hoping for Gavin Creel as Bert.
