Mary isn't human either!!
For a non-native English user like myself, it seems that Scarlett speaks beautifully and her pronunciation is comfortably stylish.
Not well sure about British accent but even I notice Ashley's fake British accent is chronic and hasn't been improved. Gavin Creel did terrible fake Cockney accent at first, though he got it two years later.(Wouldn't have done perfectly but he tried it to be better).
When he started in the show, to my knowledge, British audiences never complained of him because he is American.
How narrow minded, you said you are angry that an American actress wasn't replaced. Blinkered!

A British friend of mine saw Gavin Creel in MP not long after he started. She said that although she listened very carefully for any slip-ups she didn't hear one. She thought his accent was spot on.

I personally found Gavin Creel better in every way to the already-superb Gavin Lee. Right down to the accent. There is hope for Americans yet!

Scarlett's a great Mary, saw her twice, amazing. She has great chemistry with Creel, would LOVE to see them pair up again but it'll be interesting to see Adam and Scarlett!
PS: I enjoyed Creel more, he's was Lee's good performance but younger/smoother/more handsome + a more silky voice

Creel's accent was as perfect as it could get. Well at least that's what I thought every time I saw him. Loved him to bits!
Wasn't really fond of Ms Strallen though, I just couldn't warm to her take on the role. Never understood the hype around her Mary.

Maybe if Godspell doesn't find it's funding and is officially canceled (which would make me very sad because I think Gavin Creel would be wonderful), maybe we could look forward to him possibly taking over for Adam once he leaves the show. Which of course would probably be months from now, but still.
