He tweeted about the show's first investor reading today, "We did it. Everyone cried. Now - we wait. It's a very unique show so hopefully we find people who believe in it as much as we."http://twitter.com/#!/ScottAlanNet Do you think it'll happen?? Lisa Brescia led the cast, along with Rachel Potter (who I loved in her 10 seconds on "Search for Elle Woods," but she's now in Addams Family).

His music is nothing less than stunning and so moving, and the story sounds very clever and promising. However I have reservations over whether this 5 hand show with such intimate emotional songs can fill ANY Broadway house... and actually if I would even like to see it commercialised there! I wish this show a long, successful life Off-B'way and in fringe theatres! Of course, none of us are in a real position to make any real comment without seeing/hearing the full show... my views are based of what i've read and what I've heard on his albums, the shows concept album back when it was titled "Piece" and clips on Youtube!

I just heard about this and came here to search to see if anything had been said! I used to follow Scott's progress back in the day. His songs are really beautiful. Seems he changed his bookwriter over time. It would be great to see it go all the way, or at least off-Broadway.

Looks like they're looking for a theatre:

I assume he's talking about Peter and the Starcatcher's Broadway announcement.

I'm sure they're right in line behind Yank, bare, Summer of 42, Love Never Dies, Caligula, My Mother's Big White Behind, Hedwig, Stop the Planet of the Apes I Wanna Get Off, Carrie, Face Down in the Toilet - the Maria Montez Musical, and a few others.

But once those are all up and running, look out, Broadway!

I thought the announcement on playbill was really odd. The casting director was the one making the press release? Is he also the lead producer? If not, is there a lead producer? I wonder if Scott Alan is actually putting his own money in the piece...

I think we should wait to see if it's confirmed for broadway...the press release was carefully worded to say "aiming for broadway"...and god knows how many shows are 'broadway bound'...that doesn't really mean anything. What matters is a confirmed theater and opening date...

They had a fershluganah backer's audition - somehow this translates to a Broadway production? What show ISN'T aiming for Broadway? I see aiming for Broadway shows twice a week, not a one of which will ever come within a country mile of off-off Broadway let alone Broadway. It's wonderful to be able to tweet that all your friends cried, though. It was so much better before these boards and tweeing and Facebook so that we didn't have to hear about every first-time reading as if it meant something.

True words, Bruce.

However, I sometimes wish I hadn't been raised with the WASP-y value that self-promotion is vulgar and dishonest; that if you are truly doing well, OTHERS will talk you up, but if you do it yourself, you're just a posturing failure.

It's a value I can't shake, but I wonder if I would be somewhere radically different in life if I could.

I went to the website for the show and listened to the songs and watched the video of the one song not in the audio section. While I like the music, it all seems to be slow and a bit depressing. Did this charachter in the show not have one good memory of home? I will admit, I didn't listen closely to the lyrics but I don't know that I could sit through a show with this many ballad type songs. I would buy it to listen to at home though. Just my opinion.

New in town: I agree. Let others do the talking. I know it's how some people have gotten ahead, all this self promotion, and while a little is obviously necessary, when it's taken to crass levels then it's simply crass. But with the advent of these boards and Twitter and the like, it's just as easy to send your friends to do the talking for you - the result is the same and just as obvious.
