A friend of mine got a hold of some backstage footage of Scottsboro Boys. I think its from the Guthrie production. I haven't seen it on Broadway yet, but I've heard it was fantastic.

I'd seen it Off-Broadway last season and saw it again last Saturday. The show has been tightened, some already-good numbers expanded and at least one dud eliminated. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one, as I feel that it's Kander and Ebb's best score, barring Cabaret and Chicago. Hope that Brantley can overcome his infatuation with Benjamin Walker et. al. and give this one a fair shake.

Well Ed, Josh Henry does take his shirt off for quite a while, so there is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Brantley will love it.

That said, I saw the production the other night. It's extraordinary.

Ed, what was the song (dud) that was dropped?

My copy of the Off-Broadway cast album arrived today and I'll be sitting down to give it a full listen tonight.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

As has already been noted, It's Gonna Take Time is the one that was cut -- it was really a stinker. You said that you just got the Off-Broadway version today -- does that mean that there's a possibility that the revised version will be commercially recorded? The reprise of Alabama Ladies sung by Victoria Price really was beefed up -- Christian Dante White really goes to town on that one -- got one of the biggest ovations at the performance I attended -- really stopped the show (in the good sense of the term).

Thanks for the info...The CD I got was the one recorded last April and as far as I know no other recording is planned.

However we MAY get a new CD of PRISCILLA to accommodate all the changes in the song line-up.
