Scotty/Timmy in ASSEMBLED PARTIES

So I'm not one to start threads about topics that can be discussed within others but no one seems to be interested in the ASSEMBLED PARTIES threads anymore. But I wanted to know what everyone thought about Jake Silbermann.

I thought he was serviceable as Scotty but thought he was VERY annoying as Timmy. Timmy came off as kind of "special" in the beginning of Act 2 but then he was borderline genius out of nowhere. Maybe it's the way that the character is written but who knows. One of the main issues I had was the fact that I never really cared about Timmy so I was never truly invested in Act 2.

Maybe Silbermann's time on soaps has really worked against him here because I thought he was playing Timmy rather farcical while everyone else is blowing him out of the water. Maybe I just didn't notice as much because there are more actors to take the focus away from his shortcomings in Act 1.

Anyone else feel this way? I hadn't found any mention of the cast aside from the main trio in people's personal reviews.
