Ok, my wife and I are making our first ever trip into New York in a couple months, and we've run into a bit of a problem. In trying to get tickets for Hairspray on May 28th, we're stuck with deciding between fairly bad orchestra seats (row 'U', left of the stage) or mid-level mezzanine seats.
Problem is, I don't know much about the theater, so I don't really know which of those would be better seats, so that's what I wanted to get your opinions on...I'm buying the tickets today sometime, just trying to decide which ones to buy...
Oh, and we've already got tickets for Wicked on Saturday evening and Avenue Q on Sunday...

If the ORCH seats are described as "bad", this is just me, but I would opt for the Mid-Level MEZZ
have a great trip
Well...it's just ME describing them that way ![]()
Actually, I'm fairly bummed...we had talked about this trip for a couple weeks before finalizing it, and I'd been browsing for tickets for about that long...and up until this weekend, I could have gotten fairly good seats.
I guess my real problem is, I have no idea what the Neil Simon theater is like...Are seats in row 'U' really "bad" seats, or would row 'K' in the mezz be better ? I think in my entire life I've sat in the mezz a grand total of 1 time, and that was for a last minute decision to see a touring production of Phantom in Cincinnati...

Here is a link to the seating plan if it helps
I myself do not care to sit in the back of any ORCH, let alone if its off to the side

The Neil Simon Theatre is not THAT big of a place. Im sure u'll be fine in any place. When i saw Hairspray, I sat in the last row in the Mezz and i could see everything.
Thanks guys !!
We went with the mezzanine tickets for Friday.
Hairspray on Friday
Wicked Saturday night
Avenue Q Sunday evening
Should be a LOT of fun :)
